Gigantiaia Jungle (Gig-an-tee-ay-ah Jungle)
The Gigantiaia Jungle is a vast stretch of dense woodland that spands the divide between Eastern Midasfjall and Southern Midasfjall, where the trees and forest plants within have a peculiar property; they grow to humungous sizes. No one is certain why this phenomenon only occurs on this stretch of land and not anywhere else on Midasfjall, but most believe the phenomenon to be of a magical nature, perhaps as a result of the magical energies returning to the land after the magical cataclysm that ended the previous era, others believe it to be due to the favour of Gaia, the goddess of trees and animals. The Gigantiaia jungle is home many species of creature that belong to a family not found outside of Southern Midasfjall; the dinosaur. The presence of colossal predatory dinosaurs and enlarged carnivorous plants make the jungle incredibly dangerous and is the reason why most travelers prefer to avoid Southern Midasfjall altogether. The jungle is a valuable resource however, and some of the neighbouring peoples have set up logging camps on the jungle's fringes so they can harvest the medicinal herbs and thick trunked trees.
Geography
The land beneath the Gigantiaia Jungle is largely flat with a slight decline towards the south. The trees grow thick trunks and stretch high into the sky with wide canopies of leaves that gives the atmosphere below a gloomy cast, as only the odd shaft of light can pierce through. Despite the lack of light, the underbrush of the jungle still reaches up to chest height of an average sized person and creepers grow thick as arms around the wide tree trunks. The paths through the jungle are beaten down by colossal dinosaurs making their way through the various layers of flora in the jungle, although they are hard to follow as the springy jungle ferns return to their forms quickly.
