Summer Camp 2025 Prep
The start of June kicks off a month of preparation for the Summer Camp event in July! Hurray for my second Summer Camp event!
Pledge
Last year, I pledged to get the Gold Badge and over-delivered with writing for all 42 prompts. This year, however, I have several things going on in July, so I'm only going to pledge to achieve the Silver Badge, as I do not know if I will have time to do Diamond. Hopefully, the laptop I ordered will arrive before my first event, a week into July. Unfortunately, it says it's part of the July batch, so I do not know if it'll arrive in time. It should certainly arrive by the time my second event comes at the end of July. (I hope...) Like last year, I will still strive for the Diamond badge, but I am less optimistic about achieving it due to my circumstances this year. Nonetheless, I will try to answer as many prompts as I can.Themes
Nourishment
I like food.
Being somewhat of a solarpunk world, sustainability is incredibly important. I already have a few articles about such things, such as Urban Gardens and the EcoPlate Project. However, these could probably stand to be updated.
Additionally, I need to think about some energy sources, renewable or not. I've heard of some interesting stuff in the real world that I might add into my world.
I could probably update various Dragonkin articles to include their diets.
Some characters have a Favorite Food attribute in the sidebar; I want to go through and add it to all of them. (Especially the dragonkin characters)
I have my own batteries for this world (Graphene Battery & STUB), and technically, that serves as "nourishment" for technologies. They could use some further information, and also new technologies that use battery power!

Origins
Origins of pirates.
Origins of Ancient Dragonkin / How does a dragonkin become Ancient?
Roots are the root of all things; everything has roots to some sort of degree.
Metamorphosis
Metamorphosing dragonkin? o.O
Technology changes and adapts over time, especially in solarpunk.
Relationships can count towards this, they transform and change.
Character arcs / personalities. (In literal terms, Metamorphosis is "the process of transformation from an immature form to an adult".)
Ivis Larkspur learns to work with dragonkin. He did not want to before the city was attacked. (He has matured and his perception about dragonkin have changed once he's actually given them a chance and is forced to work with one)
Physical
Zella Solara is missing a leg and an arm.
Sabretail has to learn how to use prosthetics to fly again.
Sphyii can't really talk (aside from raspy whispers), so she has to find different ways to communicate.
Things that transform the land.
Battle of the Scarsands Canyon is the final battle of the Draconian War and has drastically changed the area.
During the Twenty Year Scourge, the Wyrm of Chaos moved along the same path many times and has carved out the land (He's the largest land creature on the planet after all). This could be known as Wyrmtrack, Wyrmspoor, or something of the like. Probably adjacent to Duskfire Desert or generally Southern Drakemyst / Nothern Arkynshire.
Metamorphosis is kind of like the Change theme from last year. *Thinking Emoji* But what kind of transformations and adaptations occur in the world? *Thinking Emoji*

Vexx Corvance is corrupting city officials to have political influence. And other stuff. >:(
Inventors of technologies(?)
Dragonbane Order is trying to change people's minds that dragonkin should not have been assimilated into society. They're getting desperate and have turned radical. >:(
After 100 years, the Ancient Dragonkin are being spotted around the world. What could that mean? The END OF THE WORLD?? (yes but actually no)
Insurrection happens either in Rayhaven, Eldrya or some other city, idk which one yet. What could the outcome be...? o.O
The Rebuilding of society after the Draconian War.
Dragonguard decides to continue to exist, even though the bad guy Ancients have been dealt with.
A new group of people arises after the war (from a precursor group) that thinks dragonkin should not be integrated into society. They are known as the Dragonbane Order.
Some characters make the ultimate sacrifice... They were here one day, and the next, they're not. (Spoilers!) :(

After finishing the Dreamwork's Dragons: The Nine Realms show on Hulu, it seemed to me that the HTTYD franchise is kind of over with now, and that made me sad. The original Pilot / Intro scene came to me after I finished watching the show, went to bed, and was trying to falling asleep. The next day (March 25, 2024), I created the Legends of the Dragonguard world on World Anvil. I eventually came up with the name of the world on April 19, 2024, almost a month after it's creation. Homepage & Introduction

I mean, I completely redid my homepage just before WAWA, so I'm not sure what else to do. Maybe there are a few things I can fix up? However, I do need to redo my Introduction article, but that's a big task and I don't know if I can do that before Summer Camp starts. Look back on your old worldbuilding

I was reading Pandora 9's '25 Summer Camp Prep article, and it had me intrigued. Aside from how beautiful their site is (even I envy it!), Crimson Court sounds like it has a rich history and quite the in-depth worldbuilding! I could probably learn a thing or two from that. Also been looking for solarpunk stuff that has similar things to my ideas. My world isn't futuristic sci-fi, it's more akin to modern-ish day technology, albeit more analog. Kind of like the Cold War era. (as in technology level, not the soviet style look of things or atompunk)

I was recently invited to join the Storyteller's Circle with a handful of wonderful Anvilites! <3 Who or what will help you achieve your goals? What is your sharing strategy?

Members of the Storyteller's Circle will certainly all help each other out! As for the "What" part, well, the laptop would help a little, just so I can work elsewhere, away from my PC at my desk in my very, always-hot room. This way, I can work while sitting outside, or in the kitchen, or in the cool basement if it's too freaking hot anywhere else. I just hope the laptop arrives in early July, so I can also take it on the trips I'm taking that month. My sharing strategy will be the same as last year. WA notifications, Discord servers (now that I'm in more of them!), social media stuff on Bluesky and Tumblr, and deeper dive Substack posts for all the prompts I complete. :)
