What does that mean?

Being a Feral Camper can mean a lot of things, but it all boils down to one crucial detail: You simply cannot contain your hype for World Anvil's Summer Camp. Each summer, it hits you like a sleeper agent activation phrase; the prompts are coming, the hype is building, and that itch... it's coming back. You NEED to worldbuild. More than that, you need to share this gnawing hunger with anyone who will listen — and maybe even those who won't (yet).   You know for a fact that the moment those prompts are released, you're pouncing on them like a rabid raccoon, ripping them into beautiful shreds of literary gold and twisting some beyond recognition just to make sure your ideas make their way into writing. While other campers gather by the campfire with s'mores, or sip on delightful little drinks lakeside, you're prowling in the woods, being the very cryptid those campers are telling their fireside stories about.   You're ready for some summer worldbuilding, and you're more than prepared to make that everyone else's problem.

Camp Feral is for you, if...

• You're left bouncing in your seat excited, waiting for next week's homework... a few hours after this week's homework was released.
• You're telling your friends and family about SummerCamp, even if they have no idea what you're even talking about.
• You're sharing your excitement with the community every chance you get! Leaving comments and likes on aaall the new pledge articles!
• You're beyond excited to get some excellent summer worldbuilding done with your favorite crew of beans!

Being a Feral Camper

There are no special actions needed to take on the title of "Feral Camper," and the only person who can decide if the label suits you, is you! There are, however, a few things to note regarding what it truly means to be "feral," in the context of Summer Camp.  

What Ferality is:

• SUMMER CAMP HYPE SQUAD — You're so excited to be here, and you're out to spread that excitement with the community every chance you get! Share your ideas and creations! Share community creations! Get hyped about new themes and prompts!
• RADICAL KINDNESS — We're feral, but we're never too far from our community! Lend a hand when folks are feeling down about their progress, and let folks know when you loved their work. If people are being mean, you have my permission to start biting (don't, actually, please let the moderators know and THEY will bite)
• EAGERNESS TO CREATE — Whether you write one prompt or 42, you have ideas overflowing and you're so thrilled to sit down and bring them to life one by one!

What Ferality is not:

• DIAMOND OR DIE — There are no completion goals tied to being a Feral Camper. Honestly, participating in prompt-writing might as well be optional as long as you're sharing the Summer Camp hype.
• NO REST TILL AUGUST — My goodness, if there is anything a feral creature loves, it's a nap! Please take care of yourself in all of the excitement that is our favorite writing challenge. Feral Chill is 100% a thing!
• CONSTANT HYPE — Even the most feral among us will need some restful, low-energy time. It's okay to not be hyped and excited 24/7, so don't try to force it when it's not there! That, my friend, is a fast track to burnout!

There is no pressure here. No expectations. It's all about the energy you bring to the table, and not how many prompts you manage to complete. If you claim Camp Feral, please bring radical kindness and passion to the community, and make sure to take care of each other.   This is just a silly little concept created to encourage shared hype and excitement, and you are invited to be a part of if you are also turbo hyped for SummerCamp!
