Knife Kata

Come back from vacation and immediately get dropped into the mess. Chancellor Kantor needs us for a sensitive issue - joy. She needs us to handle a situation with an Imperial Star Destroyed with escort on the outer edge of the galaxy getting into position for a hyperspace jump. A lucre class ship just appears in the middle of the other ships and launches an assault against one of the escort ships. It is a bloody battle and the lucre hulk does leave after taking out the majority of the escort and the escape pods. So many questions. What was it looking for? Why was it attacking the ships in such a way as to destroy them and not capture them? Why grab the escape pods? Is this a terrorist attack or are they after something specific? The other attacks have been a supply ship and a fuel convey. Obviously after materials - but why? There was also an attack on a mining colony, but the security forces were able to repel it.
 
The chancellor informs us that the troopers did not show up on sensors until they decloaked. Once they were visible, the sensors had life signs and lots of electronics. She had one of the suits brought here and we request it for examination. As we continue to talk, she mentions that there are scraps of information that indicate the lucre group is after battle plans and a Lieutenant Felderk Jessip. There is also mention of a planet: Auratera which I seem to recall from some old space maps. The bad news is that Noki's name is also on the list. Vanya calls a family meeting in an hour with everyone so we can share intel. Then a scientist enters with a crate that contains the armor. As he begins to pull out the pieces and they can be seen to absorb light and Danar and Kit Kat are very interested and seem to forget about the rest of the room.
 
All eyes turn to me for my thoughts and I share my questions. Why drill into the ships? Maybe the reason to drill into a ship is to look for specific material, people, information. The pull out will decompress the center of that ship like a giant missile. I then check to see if the Lt was captured. Turns out that the consort was injured, but is still alive. He lost a lot of people including the lieutenant and is very unhappy. His personal security force - the sisters of the steel rose - are thinking about a crusade in retaliation for the deaths. My last question is about the escape pods. Were they taking random pods? It might be hostages or meat shields. If it was specific pods, we might be looking at an inside job or very excellent sensors. I see that Danar is about to put that helmet on and I move casually over to a security console. As we are leaving, the Chancellor hands me a copy of the video so we can do more research.
 
I check around for Zaye and see she has been behind Danar the entire time he has been wearing the helmet. I ask her if she has any questions. She has noticed that they are working in coordinated movements - like clone troopers with their enhanced physicality. She points out that our group, with the exception of the Jedi, would have trouble doing the same. They do appear to be enhanced in some way. They are maybe too perfect and have probably been trained by a clone in a specific environment and does a specific knife kata that is crisp, fluid, precise, and mathematical. She is beautiful! She says that the room no longer exists. It was her father's training studio called the 'VOID' when he was in competition with Bareesh the Hutt. Bareesh did mercenaries while her father did assassins - tied to the Bene Jeserits. Joy - another reason her father needs to die and I check to see if Vanya agrees.
 
Vanya then begins suggesting that all power sources need to be disengaged and asks the Chancellor to break out her tool kit to fully dismantle it. Once the power is completely off, she suggests that maybe the suit is recording information to send to the new big bad enemy. I am trying to keep track of what is going on when my communicator goes off. I answer and it is Anakin Skywalker. Apparently Vanya has told them that I am a pilot and he is asking for how to get the sand out of the baffles without blowing the motivator. I check to see where he is and they are deep in the Honloo Dust Ocean. I tell him how Spook has used a method of
 
Davish asks Zaye to do the kata again and pulls on his gloves. Zaye assesses him and begins the kata again fluidly watching him carefully. Davish puts his hands behind his back and steps into her space. They appear to be in a dance as they move together in a balanced kata movements. Davish is performing the counter kata and Zaye moves into a counter to his countermoves and then as she finishes, Davish spins and they end with her knife millimeters from his hand. Davish explains he was taught this as a page in order to counter those trained in the void. He politely bows to Zaye and thanks her for the dance. I go over to her and hug her. I suggest the void has maybe been recreated or that they were trained a long time ago. Davish and Zaye disagree and say that there is a chance that they have been some under cover or maybe she was lied to about the destruction of the void. Vanya begins talking about long conversations with her father - saw that coming!
 
They begin talking about the previous emperor and how he treated his people. OH! "Would that be like Lieutenant Felderk Jessip?" Almon D'Joy tells me no, because the Lieutenant was honorable and when they met him at the library Vanya convinced him to change sides to truly follow his moral compass and life goals. Then we hear the Chancellor's comm link go off. It seems a shuttle has landed with a women who is demanding a Jedi and mentat consultation. Turns out she is a librarian: Commissar Celestima. Vanya gives us a warning about being formal and keeping the peanut gallery quiet for this meeting and we head out. Vanya begins talking to her and they decide to move to a shaded area and Davish contacts Derma the Hutt for a lovely meal. During the meal, the conversation turns to how we should help her find her lieutenant. There is a lot of conversational volleys, and then the ground shakes.
 
We run outside to see an attack is going on. The Dirtside Cantina is on fire. We all head that way and find the clones fighting the guys in black armor who are appearing and disappearing. We take our assignment from Vanya and head towards Noki. I grab Zaye's hand, give her a look to say 'be careful' and turn on my shield as she slides into shadows. She nods, giving me a look back, "you be careful, too" as she vanishes. I can see where Noki is interacting with one of the guys in black. I quick draw and fight at him as he becomes visible and catch him on the side. He turns to see who shot him and there is Zaye putting a vibroblade into his gun making it completely useless. As he instinctively drops it, she jabs the pommel of her other knife under his chin and knocks him out. I turn to Noki and try to find out what is happening. Apparently the guys appeared and were focusing on the clones and when Noki uses her ability to rescue Rico, they all turn to target her. I calm her down and Zaye and I put her into a corner behind us so no one can get to her. We focus on watching the area being ready to fire anytime one comes into view.
 
I sense movement to my right and turn to see a black clone appear. He smirks at me and punches at his datapad and six buzz bots materialize and zoom toward us. I tell Noki to throw up a portal and send those things to somewhere else. They are too widely dispersed and she is only able to get four of them with one heading for me and one heading for Zaye. I fire my blaster and hit it sending it spinning to the floor. Beside me, Zaye does the limbo and slides under the buzz bot and slices it. Her knives are not able to slice in deeply enough, but it also hits the floor. I turn to glare at the dark clone with the datapad when I hear a shriek behind me. I turn to Noki and see an energy blast grab him and pull him. Noki hits the ground, but she is not in immediate danger.
 
Kit Kat does something and all of them appear. I turn and fire at the datapad to prevent that from being a weapon and manage to hit it out of his hands - even though he tried to use his armor to shield it. It flies through the air smoking and spluttering. Zaye dives to cover Noki as there are suddenly two dark clones who are about to grab her. Danar comes sliding past and then the Commissar is helping Zaye by twirling one of the guys so she can stab him in the shoulder and then as Zaye removes her knife she slams him into the ground. Vanya yells out Cortosis. Apparently that is what is helping the armor to withstand our attacks. I remember that prolonged energy attacks can break through it. I communicate with the Sisters of Battle about what we need to do and that we will use Kit Kat as our starting gun. We all hear Kit Kat yells buckets on and there is a deep rumble that fills the air and we fire at individual dark clones and watch the armor crumble.
 
We are about to finish them off when four flashbangs go off!
