The Praefectus is the commander of a Deceria. Typically, this role was filled by a veteran Legionarius who had proven their value.
Oversight of The Legion's Deceria, including construction and maintenance of the tent, and the logistics involved in supplying and equipping the group. The Praefecti ensured that the soldiers were adequately prepared for battle and that the camp was fortified and defensible.
