Overlordian Confederation of Iti
The Overlordian Confederation of Iti is the smallest kingdom in Whenua. Also known as the Wildlands, it is the homeland of Orcs and Halflings.
While halflings prefer to keep their existence hidden, using magic to stop foreigners from easily finding their towns, Orcs took the power of the land, founded clans and built cities and armies.
Confederation
The orcs of Iti are organised in clans. Every clan has its chief who controls and commands over everyone, but there is one chief who is above everyone else and acts as the ruler of the kingdom: the Overlord. Despite being a lawless land, everyone respect and fear the Overlord who commands the strongest army of Iti, the Mākū clan, fearless and bloodthirsty warriors that still follow the training of Ariwa, one of the Ancient, who founded the kingdom of Iti and taught orcs the art of war.
To become a chief or an overlord the only way is to kill the previous chief or overlord. Since rules state that only an orc can be a chief, in case a chief is killed by a non-orc or dies naturally (which is very rare in the Wildlands) the Overlord can choose someone to take their place. Since there is no such rule for the Overlord, whoever kills the Overlord takes their place or dies trying to flee. If the Overlord dies of natural causes, the Tapu of the orcs, Groosh the Destroyer, will choose a new Overlord.
Currently there are 6 Orcs clans:
The Wild Hunt
In the orc culture there is only one rule, the rule of the strongest. For these reasons, even though the Overlord officially has control over the entire kingdom, the clans of Iti are in constant war between each other and the constant raids, battles and slaughters are known as The Wild Hunt.
Foreigners are often advised not to set foot into Iti without a proper invitation due to the fact that laws do not apply in here and robbery, torture and murder are legal and accepted in the kingdom.
The Nibelorkenlied
The Nibelorkenlied (literally the Song of the Nibelork)is an epic that tells the tragic story of Siegfried, a heroic dragon-slayer, and his wife Kriemhild, whose quest for revenge leads to devastating consequences. Heroes and legends that come from this story are strongly tied to Orcs beliefs and traditions.Slavery
Iti is one of the two kingdoms in Whenua where slavery is legal. During the Wild Hunt, orcs usually kill most of their foes but sometimes they decide to spare them, condemning them to a fate worse than death. Slaves are used for anything, from serving to their master, to working on fields and mines, and in some clans they are also used as entertainment in fight clubs where slaves fight usually until death while the cheering crowd bet on them.Drugs and Steroids
Due to the lawless nature of the Wild Lands, in the Confederation of Iti all drugs are legal and vastly used. Particularly widespread between the orcs is the Titan’s Blood, a specific drug that speeds up muscle growth and increases strength. Rumours say that the biggest drug cartel of Titan’s Blood is in the hands of The Whisper, one of the most famous thieves guilds of Whenua, which allegedly provides and deals huge amounts of this drug to orcs which are now mostly addicted to it.Dressing
Wildlands Punk
The overall aesthetic is a blend of punk, militaristic, and improvised clothing. People in this world wear whatever they can salvage, creating an eclectic, makeshift look.Leathers and Armor
Many wear leather jackets, often repurposed from old motorcycle gear. This gives protection against the harsh environment and makeshift weapons.Spikes, Chains, and Studs
Metal spikes, studs, and chains are common, especially on armour pieces and clothing. This gives a more menacing, intimidating appearance and is likely intended to reflect a society where violence is the norm.Goggles and Face Masks
Because of the dusty, barren environment, many people wear goggles and scarves or masks to protect themselves from sandstorms. These accessories are often cobbled together from old industrial or military supplies.Patchwork Clothing
Torn and frayed clothing patched together with different materials is common. This reflects a world where resources are scarce, so clothing is repaired and repurposed multiple times.Spiked Armor and Shoulder Pads
Shoulder pads and spiked armor are commonly worn by warlords and their followers. These exaggerated pieces give a militaristic and dangerous appearance, reflecting the lawless, violent society.Belts and Straps
Belts and leather straps criss cross over torsos and arms, sometimes holding weapons or serving no other purpose than adding to the chaotic, warrior-like aesthetic.Ragged Capes and Cloaks
Some wear torn cloaks or long coats to give an air of mystery or command respect. These are often dirty and frayed, symbolising the long and dangerous journeys they've endured.Wristbands, Gloves, and Boots
Many sport heavy wristbands, fingerless gloves, and tall boots. These are practical for fighting and surviving the wastelands.Economy
The main market of the Confederation is War, orcs are hired all over the continent as Mercenaries. The Mercenaries guild is safe from the law of the Wild Hunt and their member can, if they choose so which is not always the case, to move freely through the Wildlands without being raided, attacked or killed by other clans.
