Port

The no longer flat...

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Port can be somewhat varied in the appearance and it depends mostly on the manner in which they were shifted to the 3D Realms, or "Dimensioned". The most common means of Dimensioning is called "Cubing". In this process the Port has the sprites that they occupied in the Flat Realms applied to a rectangular shape that breaks into a smaller rectangle at the mouth facilitating mouth movement. When they walk or act the sprites play as they would in the Flat Realms but on all four of the largest sides of the rectangle. Another process of Dimensioning is called "Folding". In this manner the sprite is folded around a center pivot creating a strange circular vase like shape. Folding is a more uncommon means of being Dimensioned.

HISTORY

Port are Nipiks that have migrated from the Flat Realms to the 3D Realms. For a long time neither Realm was aware of the other before Professor Know made contact decades ago. Since then several Port have made the journey to the 3D Realms which is a harrowing adjustment. It is theorized that a journey in the opposite direction is also possible but it is not currently known how this could be achieved. Port are often defensive of their origins as many Nipik native to the 3D Realms are not very welcoming to their presence often facing an undue amount of scrutiny in regards to their work ethic and functionality. Since they are essentially replicated on all the sides of the rectangle they make exceptional guards because they can see in all directions at once. It is rare but sometimes intense trauma can fray the connection between each side of the Port causing each side to act indecently of the other even to the point of differing personalities.
