Gib

Gore personified...

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

If you were to collect all the fleshy pieces big enough to pick up after a person exploded and put them back where they were before combustion you would have the Gib. They are a walking conglomeration of gore flung from corpses as they were detonated in the Gamer Realms. As they are made from bits they can vary greatly in appearance from spindly flesh skeletons to hulking meaty brutes. The core pieces they require to function are at least half of a brain, one eye and some kind of fleshy torso shape to attach to but they can increase their functionality by accumulating and adding more gore to their bodies. They only rarely wear any type of clothing as it limits them to a humanoid shape. Some accessorize in the form of spikes that protrude from their mass which they use to mount trophies from their kills.

CULTURE

The first Gib were accidentally reconstituted after a Gamer exploded them which resulted in the Glitch that allowed them to escape to the Oob but unlike the other Nipik races the Gib can collect gore from detonated creatures to make more Gib. Since there is no shortage of Gamer violence the Gib have plenty of material to procreate making them the most prolific of the Nipik races. Having been born from intense violence they have also adopted aggressive tendencies. Most Gib belong to feuding tribes ruled by enormous Gib warlords. They battle and claim each other's gore so often that most Gib's chunks have belonged to at least 5 different people at one point or another. Few are welcome in or desire the more peaceful life of other Nipik societies. Since not all of them have bothered to collect mouths many do not speak the common Nipik language and instead communicate with the squelching, gushing and tearing of violent sound effects. This language is called Gore Speak and most Gib refuse to speak anything else regardless of having a mouth or not.

INSPIRATION

The Gib were inspired by a glitch in the game Fallout New Vegas where sometimes, if you had the "Bloody Mess" perk, after you exploded an NPC then saved and reloaded the NPC would be put back together from the gore that had exploded out. Sometimes these NPCS would even walk around in this state oblivious to being reconstituted bloody pieces.
