Mercenary Guild

Need some muscle to protect your property? An adventurer to cut down some threat? A military to act against your enemies? So long as you have enough money to hire them, the Mercenary Guild is where you hire your swords.

Structure

Unlike most Guilds, the Mercenary's Guild doesn't hold to the traditional Apprentice, Journeyman, Master setup but ranks itself like an army with the newest recruits having the lowest ranking while their ranking can go up based on completed missions and outstanding military exploit within those missions.

Public Agenda

The Mercenary Guild trade their skill in adventuring, combat, and scouting in return for coin. So long as you have enough money to outbid your competitors, they'll fight on your side.

Assets

Perhaps one of the poorest Guilds, the Mercenary Guild limits their resources to only that which helps them in battle (including scouting and adventuring) such as arms and armor. Though some have connections with sorcerers or artisans, most of their goods come from the Merchant's Guild instead and their members must pay for them, though at a discount as compared to buying them straight from the Merchant's Guild depending on their rank within the Mercenary's Guild.

Demography and Population

Like any other Guild within An'Croílár the Mercenary Guild has a wide range of the peoples from the Four Nations, anyone skilled in fighting and willing to put their lives on the line for coin is welcomed.

Territories

Like the other Guilds of An'Croílár they're headquartered in Na'Comhrialtas but have offices elsewhere, but focus these offices on dangerous areas as much as larger cities.

Military

The greatest military might in all of Na'Comhrialtas, the mercenaries make their livelihoods by selling their swords (and other means) across Ihmisen Keh'to and are perhaps the most veteran adventurers, fighters, and scouts when it comes to facing danger.

Technological Level

Mercenaries rarely make anything themselves, instead purchasing their items from the Merchant's Guild or specialized guilds if the mercenary in question has a contact in them... however, they've learned to use the various tools and weapons at their disposal in interesting ways in the face of great danger.

Foreign Relations

Though they give outsiders a feeling of coldness and perhaps even bloodthirstiness, the Mercenary Guild is perhaps the most amiable Guild in reality - so long as you don't renege on your payment for services rendered. They rarely plot like the Mercenary Guild and don't keep themselves locked up in ivory towers or laboratories like the Artisan's and Mage's Guilds do.

Education

Though they don't have much of an official education system within the Mercenary Guild, its perhaps the best place to join to learn to harness your knowledge in direct application of force and survival. Most of this is done "on the job" however, with only a few tutors in the various offices that can help you advance one skill or another. The only skills officially taught by the mercenaries is military discipline and strategy, for they often act as armies and guards instead of just adventuring out to take down one threat or another.
