Centakus exists as a continent of extremes, with arid deserts dominating the north, where rain has all but forsaken the land for over a millennium, while in the impenetrable southern jungles, incessant torrential rain falls throughout the year. As ground zero of an apocalypse known as the Great Cataclysm, the continent still actively suffers from this tragic event. Centakus separates from Beorlan at the northern border of Girith Khemon at the narrow Strait of Aklon.

Climate and Ecosystems: The northern two thirds of Centakus rarely experiences much precipitation, while in the cursed Great Movorian Desert, the lingering effects of the cataclysm prevent any rain from falling. Seasonally dry conditions exist in southern Shaa’darr and the east coast of Ursagammu while abundant rainfall can be found along Ursagammu’s west coast. The tropical jungles of the far south lie in a weather band of heavy rainfall and contain creatures from a long-lost age seen nowhere else in Raios.

Geographic Areas and Dominant Races: The site of the former Movorian Empire still exerts the strongest influences on the fate of Centakus. Although it remains a nearly lifeless land, wild magic and chaos storms still emanate from this accursed area. The Great Movorian Desert lies divided into two unique deserts. Northernmost lies a vast area of enormous drifting white sand dunes interspersed with large lifeless salt flats. Known as the White Desert or Sahurasuud, this area became uplifted so violently that it went from coastal sea bottom to desert upland. The other lifeless area, known as the Red Desert or Ahmrasuud, consists of a land of red rocks and blowing red sands. This lifeless land contains the partially exposed remnants of shattered buildings and lurking hordes of undead.

The arid lands of Brok’talon, Fa’hdhu, Khem, and Shaa’darr, harbor dangerous monstrosities and aberrations, while the equally arid land of Girith Khemon finds itself constantly wracked by powerful earthquakes. The peninsula of Ursagammu finds itself as the only remaining area on this continent that still contains a thriving population of humans. Retaining only a vestige of their pre-cataclysm knowledge, they live in small villages and coastal towns.

The evil land of Hoth N’dorgor lies in a great depression surrounded by mountains. At its center lies the great black pinnacle of Gorrais Helevorn, a greatly feared beacon of evil.

Finally, far to the south lies a great band of tropical rainforest jungle consisting of the lands of Dnaga, Dzun’uria, the Great Selvurian Jungle, To’unga, Troog, and U’lunn. Filled with impenetrable jungle, these lands contain titanic creatures from a long-forgotten age.

History and the Great Cataclysm: A great war between the Movori, Kishari, and Chuulonian Empires, culminated in a magical catastrophe of epic proportions, resulting in the near total devastation of the northern two thirds of Centakus.

Magical and Mystical Sites: The single greatest site for evil in the world of Raios lies in the 165-foot-tall black obsidian pinnacle known as Gorrais Helevorn. This malevolent monolith radiates both magic and evil that brings cold fear into anyone who views it.

Dangers and Threats: Traveling the northern two thirds of Centakus brings great risk from both natural hazards and from dangerous denizens who dwell in these cursed lands. The southern realms bring their own dangers from the great beasts dwelling in the dense impenetrable jungles.

Unexplored Regions: The great dangers present in Centakus have greatly limited exploration. Other than the coastal margins, few first-hand accounts exist of what may lie in the interior of this forsaken continent.
