Location: Valley of Hoth N’dorgor in west central Centakus

Description: Rising up out of a nearly lifeless, ash strewn valley floor, stands an imposing and sinister looking 165-foot-tall pinnacle of dark black obsidian known as Gorrais Helevorn. Its looming foreboding presence, intensified by an ever-present immensely powerful aura of magic and evil, brings cold fear into the hearts of all who view it. The structure's main pinnacle towers high above the dread filled landscape, flanked by numerous shorter pinnacles arrayed around the sides. This malevolent monolith is situated at the heart of the notorious evil valley of Hoth N’dorgor, which is enclosed by steep chains of black volcanic mountains on its eastern, northern, and western sides. In the distance, the legendary evil volcanoes of Raugannon and Ruinrauko can be seen rising above the valley floor, belching great gray clouds of choking toxic gases from their summits. The very air of the great evil valley is difficult to breathe, as fine volcanic dust fills the air amid the acrid reek of sulfur.

The black pinnacle is, in fact, the exposed core of an ancient volcano, dating back to the First Age when the world was still young. Over the long millennia, the powers of rain and wind have eroded away the exterior of the volcano, leaving behind the tall black core that was hidden within.

Residents: Legends regard Gorrais Helevorn as the home of the greatest source of primal evil in the world today. For millennia, wicked evil priests, serving their horrific dark gods, have been drawn to the evil corruption of the site by its horrendous malevolent power, to conduct vile blasphemous rituals of unspeakable evil. The abominable malevolence emanating from Gorrais Helevorn seems to lure evil creatures and humanoids alike, compelling them to commit vile acts under its influence. Large numbers of mounted Turoch serve the dark forces that make their home here. The Turoch frequently ride off on secret missions after brief visit to the tower area.

There are also rumors that the inhabitants of the tower are well skilled in summoning and can gate in powerful monsterous beings to do their bidding.

History: Throughout history, ancient legends claim that a mysterious rune-covered door, lies hidden within a fold of the rock, guarded by powerful abjuration spells that resist any attempts to breach it. The legend goes on to say that the forbidding magical door leads into the unknown evil depths of Gorrais Helevorn itself. What lies beyond this door is unknown. Great malevolent forces are said to dwell within Gorrais Helevorn, but none have dared to venture inside and returned alive. The pinnacle remains a nightmarish place of dread and fascination, a testament to the darker mysteries of the world. It stands as a reminder of the horrors unleashed during the Great Cataclysm, where the malevolent forces of evil thrived in the wake of catastrophic events.
