Gig Combat

What are gigs?

Unlike the usual typical combat where it's fully automated by the RpR system, gigs are slightly different due to Conan game limitations. Gigs revolve around players fighting against NPCs under the eye of a Gamemaster who prepared an adventure, story beat or mission for those that joined and will guide them throught it like a narrator, very much like a Dungeon Master for D&D.

How do I play a gig then?

Every player clicks their HP and torso armour in the RpR menu to show it in chat, then starts combat as usual, and rolls initiative. But from that point on, do not use the RpR attacks buttons, instead use the skill rolls. For example firing a pistol, you'll roll the handgun skill. If you hit, you roll the damage of the weapon via the command /roll Xd6, X being the damage of the weapon. Hitting an NPC, depends if they managed to dodge it or you hit the static DV for that range.

Since we aren't clicking the usual buttons or relying on the RpR automated system, keeping track of HP and armour/SP becomes the player responsibility during the gig. You do it by altering your status and modifying it each time you suffer damage. If the damage is equal or bellow your armour, you take no HP damage. If it's above, subtract the total damage by your armour value and take that much HP damage, and the lower your armour by 1. You can roleplay the loss of HP as you wish IC. Critical hits, and extras are all handled by the gig Gamemaster. It is often considered polite and saving of everyone's time to make sure you emote after stating you ended your turn.
