Factions

From Peacekeepers, to Heywood gangs to Corpos attempting to pressure their influence in Arcadia. Each faction has their own rules and plans to tap into the freedom that this new district boasts. Mercs, edgerunners, employees, booster gangers or even citizens all shelter themselves in one of these factions, the name itself enough to provide protection until someone has the iron and balls to pull a trigger on you.

NCPD (Night City Police Department)

The NCPD , night city's standing force against the violent gangs and corruption. Out Numbered, out gunned and often in conflict with even those who would otherwise be their allies. The NCPD is often in conflict with the gangs of Night City, but also the IBHU since they're more often than not, working to serve self-interest. The NCPD in contrast, often work for the interest of Mega Corps under the guise of 'public safety'. Notable Divisions Include:
    • Patrol — beat cops and rapid response officers.
    • SWAT — tactical specialists for high-risk engagements.
    • Internal Affairs — investigations into corruption… when allowed.

SC: Sub-Contractors

Mercenaries, bounty hunters and private detectives, along with many other non official groups that the NCPD and other governmental organizations used to help keep order in night city. They often operate outside the law, or even at times against the law in order to capture their bounties, it's not unheard of for them to conflict with the police in order to capture and cash out on a bounty, or against one another for the same reasons. SC operators walk a fine line between vigilante justice and outright criminality, making them unpredictable allies and dangerous enemies. Traits include:
    • Operate outside formal law enforcement, often bending or breaking rules to achieve objectives
    • Hired to track, capture, or eliminate targets for payment
    • Frequent conflicts with police, rival sub-contractors, or independent groups over bounties and contracts
    • Highly adaptable and skilled in combat, investigation, and urban survival

Arroyo Knights

The Patriots are a Night City street gang founded by veterans of the Fourth Corporate War who were disillusioned with the state of the city and the helplessness of the NCPD. Originally formed to bring order to their neighborhood, by 2077 they are now a criminal organization involved in robbery, extortion, and arms dealing while hiding behind the guise of ‘protection’ and ‘street security’. They are characterized by their military-style appearance and their claim to be a patriotic force that brings "order" to their territory. As the war between the Patriots and Valentinos raged through ‘77, the Arroyo Knights were formed as an alliance to rally smaller gangs into their cause. Now with the Patriots making their move for a complete takeover of Heywood, gangs under the Arroyo Knights flag are being deployed to assist with covering the district in Red, White and Blue.
