Ru'Than
Underdark continent under The Northern Isle
~ Tunnels of magical darkness links Ru'Than, The Undersea and Ru'Mal together ~
Ru'Than is one part of the subterranean realm, inhabited by many different types of creatures such as Drow, Mind Flayers, Beholders, Derro, Duergar, Illithids, Kuo-Toa, Svirfneblin and Aboleths. It extends below the cellars, dungeons and mines of Esau, and consists of caverns, tunnels, settlements and large complexes.
Fiend, Devils, Demons and Archdemons have come from The Hells to use Ru'Than as a way to take over the surface - through The Gahara.
It is a slightly smaller than Ru'Mal - which is the Underdark that lies beneath Malnax - guarded by the hound Mischief (the litter mate to Doom who roams The Gahara.)
Tunnels of magical darkness links Ru'Than, the Undersea and Ru'Mal together.
Rumours of Fiend, Devils, Archdemons and Demons from The Hells entering Ru'Than - wishing to control the surface.
Some people believe, that they will steal away the eldest living child to take possession of their body.
The capital city of Ru'Than is Kyspar, located next to The Silk Lake.
MAIN ENTRANCE
Entry can be from a mythical place whispered as The Gahara (somewhere between Non and Odd ).OTHER ENTRANCES
From the towns of Hyon and Janney, there are the hidden entrances to The Northern Silver Mine. It is the largest Silver Mine in all of Esau.Within The Northern Silver Mine there are a set of steps, they are cut into the dark walls however the stairs themselves are colourful, from the unusual mineral vein found there. The minerals are not worth much and are damaged so worth even less.
The steps curve down. On the walls are ancient drawings and occasional words. The words and drawings are from those who first craved the steps ... named Flint and Cobble (Earth Genasi), Urmrig Rockbones and Sardryn Rockbones (father and daughter of the Mountain Dwarf Clan of Rockbones) and Lorsan Cralar (High Elf male).
The flow of the Kynym River is from within the edge of the Gallic Desert (near Wether ) , then under the town of [Castow, and under Spiral Peak, getting near to where the mythical place The Gahara is rumoured to be, down into Ru'Than, where it enters The Silk Lake.

FURNACE MOUNTAINS
Craved Out MountainsMany passages and trails wind throughout the Underdark but there is only one path enters the Vault which contains The Vault Shrine of the Kuo-Toa – it is through a fissure in its Eastern wall. Only 120 feet from the entrance, stands The Ebony Tower an ancient stronghold stands four stories high, watching over the path. The tower’s foundations are built within the steep-sided mound of stone – the massive walls worn smooth by the passing of ages and the damp salty air coming of the Undersea - the heat iside the Furnace mountains occasionally builds to release a lot of steam. The stone path descends through the gorge which is about 600 feet wide, which gradually become broader as it goes north-west.
THE VAULT SHRINE OF THE KUO-TOA
The Vault Shrine of the Kuo-Toa is an hard to reach cavern, containing the infamous Kuo-Toa City of Juldoolmonsolop, on the West Shore of the Wyvern's Neck Bay that leads to the Undersea (The Sunless Sea). The Kuo-Toa of the city worship and protect the Aboleth named Juldool.* Kuo-Toa also known as Gogglers and Men-Fish - warm-blooded and amphibious creatures - fanatics plagued by mental instability
A narrow incline leads up to the Ebony Tower—all visitors are required to report there, for it serves as a checkpoint and customhouse for foreigners entering the Vault. All races, other than Kuo-Toa, are questioned regarding the purpose of their visit to the City of Juldoolmonsolop and The Vault Shrine of the Kuo-Toa. Those who are deemed acceptable are issued a orange cloak made from Wyvern Scales that glisten various shades - which they must wear to identify themselves as ‘inspected visitors’ to the Kuo-Toa. Interlopers who lack the orange cloak soon find themselves either killed or enslaved by any of the residence of Juldoolmonsolop. The cloaks are returned on their departure.
Travelling to the great cavern is treacherous and extremely dangerous, a journey that only the most experienced adventurers should consider. An enormous natural antechamber to the Vault opens perhaps two miles west of the Ebony Tower. Within its immense breadth, though, lies a place of great beauty and mystery. Only one known path gives access to this area. An approaching traveler will be greeted by bizarre sights, accompanied by a chill breeze. Countless orange, yellow, jade, violet, and deep blue crystals sparkle like stars in the ceiling and walls of the vault. These formations are remnants of unfinished creation, suspended in the cavern since the days of the [earliest ages] – the design to look like fish swimming in the sea. Beneath these artificial creations, grows of pale Fungus which shimmer with sapphire and ruby hues. A soft hum buzzes within the vault – sounds of the native nasty cricket-like insects that inhabit the fungal patches. Anyone who can see into the darkness, the walls of the vault always appear hazy and somewhat insubstantial. The path continues down into a gorge between steep cliffs. Crushed crystals faintly shimmering with orange glow lining the edge of the path - to keep visitors from wandering off the path and falling into the darkness.
