Demons are intensely chaotic evil. They cannot stand the status quo. They do not want things to continue to work the way they have been. They want to screw things up so they never work properly. Demons consider rules are so damned constricting. They want to break things, kill people, cause chaos, and generally mess everything up real bad for others. If they happen to become rich and powerful, or make lots of friends and punish enemies, that is just an unintentional bonus - even can be a nuisance to them.
Demons are chaotic evil fiends native to The Abyss - a chaotic evil universe unto itself with uncountable layers of infinite variety connected haphazardly, that is connected to The Hells. They ever-evolving creatures of destruction spawned in its infinite depths to act as living instruments of oblivion.
They are personifications of ferocity, vile perversion, and elemental devastation, existing to further the tendency of all things to slide into entropy and ruin. Barely contained by their monstrous forms, demons are creatures of raw physicality and rage, the embodiment of everything malign about chaos.
The Demons reside within The Abyss, where they originate from. There are many found the Underdark of Ru'Mal and Ru'Than. Although some do inhabit other places.
DEALS
Demons never ever plan to honour deals. They will never keep their word. If anyone can get them to agree to a deal in the first place, they are likely to ignore the contract completely. They are the denizens of the Abyss that explode from a crack in the Earth and start ripping apart random people for no reason. —Wild, uncontrolled evil.— The Succubus (or incubus) is probably the only one that even comes close to being able to hold it together long enough to tempt mortals with empty promises. They will always turn on their marks in the end. They lie constantly to get what they want. You hold up a contract that a demon signed and he will just rip it up and then eat your face.THE ABYSS
The Abyss is an outer plane - a violent, malevolent place where the strong survived on the backs of the weak, the weak conspired to overthrow the strong, alliances only lasted while convenient, and the landscape itself tortured the mind and body of all who dared to pass.It is believed that the number of layers could be infinite, however no one could be certain. Over 660 have been catalogued so far.
The first layer is named Pazunia after the Demon Lord Pazuzu. Pazunia is a barren, dusty place baking under a colossal red sun, broken only by great iron fortresses, huge crater holes in the ground, and the river Styx. Some branches of the river Styx flows down the holes - which were conduits to the various layers - some of these holes supplied water to the river Styx in reverse waterfalls.
In the very depths of the Abyss, the heart of the plane is constantly cleaving through the primal foundations of the cosmos, as it has since before Moatama created the Moata Solar System. If a demonic invasion is ever allowed to fester, then all the realms and planes could fall into the Abyss - becoming the basis of new layers. Conversely, it is believed that the Abyss is also capable of losing layers. The individual layers of the Abyss have primal urges and a constant need for nourishment, shrinking and weakened until nothing is left if not fed. Alternatively, they may be absorbed by other layers - only able to escape this state by acquiring sufficient sustenance. Occasionally, the battling of demons over control of a layer can become so chaotic and cataclysmic that the entire layer of The Abyss is outright obliterated.
The inhabitance are a myriad types of demons, too numerous to catalog - including the Tanar'ri, Obyriths, and Loumaras. Non-demonic life can also be found in the Abyss - both hearty mortal explorers, some captives, fool-heart dealmakers, and the petitioners taken there after death. Many wicked deities also base themselves in the Abyss.
Layers of the Abyss consist of all types of terrain, atmosphere, weather, gravity, and material composition are represented in the myriad layers. Such as ...
Ash - blowing dunes of ashes
Hellscape - a burning mix of magma, rock, and belching brimstone, like parts of The Hells
Battleground - bloody soil scattered with corpses and weapons
City - warrens and slums to citadels and palaces, teeming with demons
Earth-dominant - solid rock tunneled by the inhabitants
Air-dominant - zero gravity, no matter there except air
Fire-dominant - ever burning flames with creatures of fire
Water-dominant - nightmarish creatures in the murk
Wood-dominant - enclosed spaces made of hard wood, which are linked by narrow mazes.
Void-dominant - darkness that holds within strange creatures moving around
Delusion - although appears to be normal, the flowers are poisonous, the vines entangle quickly, and the trees attack

Glacier - infinite black, white, or reddish-orange ice with few rocky peaks breaking the surface
Maelstrom - swirling, bubbling chaos like Limbo
Mountainous - rocky crags, precipitous cliffs, soaring peaks
Ocean—a trackless, turbulent ocean, similar to The Plane of Water but with a surface

Relationship Ideals
Archdemons and other Fiend live in a hierarchy of sorts - the biggest bully rules.
All Fiend in The Abyss and The Hells flock to serve either archdevils or archdemon - some with goals of eventually, they can usurp their master and ascend to the throne of lies the Archdemon rules from. Many of the current Archdemons were but mere shadow demons or quasits, the best at cunning and subterfuge, and managed to strike the killing blow on their old master, leaving them with a title of Archdemon. Others are fallen angels from Celestia.
Though once they get there, they're at the top of the pack. They're so far above every other demon they've ever known, and that isolation might drive them to be paranoid.
