Borca

Borca is a Domain of Dread steeped in decadence, treachery, and tragedy. It is a land of striking contrasts—lavish manors and decaying villages, elegance and squalor, beauty and death. Beneath the veneer of civility, Borca is a domain where every smile hides a knife, and where poison flows more freely than wine. The domain is ruled—though never peacefully—by two Darklords, Ivana Boritsi and Ivan Dilisnya, whose mutual hatred and obsessions define the land’s character.

To walk in Borca is to step into a poisoned garden, where every word may be a trap, and every kindness may be a prelude to betrayal. It is a land where tragedy is inevitable, because the hands that offer help often hold the very poison that will end you.

Localized Phenomena

Borca is a domain of deceit, manipulation, and slow-burning horror. Unlike other domains filled with overt monsters, Borca’s terrors come in the form of perfidy, politics, and psychological cruelty. It draws on gothic themes of aristocratic rot and the poison lurking beneath polite society.

Here, trust is the most dangerous thing one can give, and the deadliest dangers come dressed in silk and lace.

Climate

Borca’s countryside is breathtaking, filled with verdant vineyards, flowering meadows, and thick forests. Its cities, most notably Levkarest, gleam with wealth and architectural splendor. But behind this beauty lies a rot—gossip, corruption, betrayal, and slow murder fester behind gilded doors. The streets of noble quarters are clean, while the outskirts reek of poverty and neglect.

Borca is a place of perfumed letters with poisoned ink, of masked balls where rivals dance inches from death, and villages where fear and hunger are inherited like heirlooms.

Fauna & Flora

  • Ivana Boritsi is a master poisoner and the cold-hearted mistress of much of Borca’s aristocracy. Born into a lineage of manipulation, she has turned refinement into a weapon. Her presence is marked by elegance and dread—flowers wilt where she treads, and her words are as venomous as the draughts she distills. Ivana’s obsession is control, particularly over her family and station, but her need to be admired—and feared—drives her to cruelty.
  • Ivan Dilisnya is a deranged inventor and sadistic killer who lives in a twisted parody of a noble estate. Tormented by boredom and a thirst for “entertainment,” he stalks his prey across the countryside, creating traps, games, and spectacles of terror. Ivan sees the suffering of others as performance art and revels in the helplessness of those he hunts. His mind is that of a child given too much power and no moral compass.

Though they share rule over Borca, Ivana and Ivan despise each other, trapped in a toxic spiral of rivalry and vengeance. Their schemes often clash, creating ripples of destruction across the land.
