Silbervas
Silbervas, once a modest yet proud city nestled near the southern rivers of Falkovnia, now lies in a state of violent fragmentation and crumbling ruin. Once renowned for its silversmiths, civic guilds, and well-ordered stone avenues, Silbervas has become a lawless battleground—a place where the living fight the living just as fiercely as they resist the dead.
Silbervas is a city caught in a cruel limbo—no longer truly alive, not fully dead, and ruled by those willing to do anything to survive one more day. In the ruins of civilization, humanity devours itself.
Guilds and Factions
Silbervas is not uninhabited. Pockets of survivors have dug into the remains, carving out warlord-controlled zones, refugee enclaves, and scavenger strongholds in the broken shell of the city.
- The Iron Brands: A mercenary-led militia holding the old granary district. They deal in weapons, labor, and intimidation.
- The Ashfaith: A doomsday cult that worships the undead plague as divine punishment. They occupy the ruined cathedral and demand tribute in blood.
- The Chalkmen: Silent, masked scavengers who leave chalk sigils and traps. They seem to have no leader, only a coded system of symbols and paths.
- The Bittercoin Cartel: Smugglers turned city lords who control trade (and hoarded supplies) in the central market ruins.
- The Hidden Hearth: A secretive network of healers, old soldiers, and caretakers sheltering orphans and the vulnerable in the flooded lower levels of the city’s collapsed civic hall.
While the undead still wander the outer ruins, it is human desperation, betrayal, and ambition that rule the heart of Silbervas.
History
Silbervas was among the earliest cities to fall after the first waves of the zombie legions swept through Falkovnia. Its outer walls held for a time, but internal strife and poor coordination allowed the undead to breach the city. Fires spread unchecked. Entire districts collapsed under siege and flame. In the aftermath, no effort was made to reclaim it.
Now, Silbervas is divided, not just in body, but in spirit. The city is a patchwork of factions, ruins, and horrors.
Points of interest
- The Broken Bell Tower: A crumbling spire that once marked the city’s central square. Now it serves as a sniper's perch and signal post for rival factions.
- Silver Row: The old artisan quarter, riddled with hidden caches, booby traps, and soot-streaked mansions. Some say the guild vaults beneath remain untouched.
- The Cradle Garden: A half-buried orphanage surrounded by twisted, thorny vines. Something unnatural protects the children still hiding there.
- The Canal Chasm: A shattered aqueduct and canal system now serving as both passage and prison. Factions dump bodies—and rivals—into its depths.
Climate
- Desperation and Division: Silbervas is a city where survival overrides solidarity. Its inhabitants trust no one.
- Power in the Ashes: Everyone believes something in Silbervas—be it treasure, a cure, or ancient knowledge—could shift the balance of Falkovnia’s fate.
- Monsters Among the Living: While the undead linger on the edges, the true danger lies in the ruthless humans who have adapted to life in a world without mercy.
