Acarcia (Ah-KAR-see-ah)
The Known World
Acarcia, the western landmass of Aemaphia, is a vast and diverse supercontinent defined by its striking variety of climates and ecosystems. From the arctic tundras and boreal forests of its northernmost regions to the expansive savannahs and tropical rainforests of its southern reaches, Acarcia showcases nature’s extremes and abundance. Its rugged mountain ranges, fertile river valleys, and sprawling plains are home to vibrant civilizations and rich biodiversity, while arid deserts and windswept steppes create a stark yet captivating contrast. Acarcia's is further divided into numerous continents. First among them is the heart of Terran society, Aesersia. Next in significance is the ancient and imperious continent of Arthesia. The wartorn lands of Arcesia dominate the western frontier of Acarcia, while the overbearing mountain ranges of Aestidesia loom over the rest of the supercontinent. Aegesia, also known as the sacred garden, is home to some of the oldest Terran civilizations, and the vibrant peninsula of Aquilesia serves as isolated land of dense forests and unimaginable dangers, forever seperated from the rest of Acarcia by the impossible Tzacualli Mountains. Far from the mainland, the wild archipelago of Aepesia serves as the easternmost edge of Acarcia, while the mysterious island continent of Aetesia drifts alone in the westernmost fringe of the uncharted Pallinausean Sea. In the center of the supercontinent rests the unblinking "Eye of the World", the Gasenaus; a titanic body of water that divides east from west. Each contribute unique geographic, cultural, and ecological features to the continent, making it a dynamic and essential part of Aemaphia’s narrative tapestry.
Acarcia is inspired by the hemispheric landmasses of Europe, Asia, and Africa.
