Sóholdt
Archivist's Excerpt from: Alone in the Cold: The Story of Orphan Towne, its Strange History, & its Stranger Occupants, CVI 42.4
The only way into Jalóheim, assuming one is not an accomplished mountain climber, is through its eastern gate in Sóholdt. Definitely the poorest region of the village (a victory nobody wants to win, hopefully), Sóholdt is home to very little but the way out of town and out over the ridgeline that descends eastward into the The Shift and otherwise faces the distant Istlund, miles away eastward. The entrance is generally guarded by Serkers, mostly out of fear of incursion on the part of Clan Faldin. and partly out of a generations-old spit for Orphan since the days of the Settler's Skirmish.
It contains the Orphan’s Lodge, and is otherwise the densest residential district of Jalóheim. Historically, it is noteworthy for little other than being the origin of one particularly troublesome resident, one Hana Sóholdt, whose name derives from this location, much as DaVinci's derives from the town of Vinci, and to whom she ought never be compared. Miss Sóholdt herself is noteworthy for functioning as something of a spark that lit the particular powder keg that is the Great Initiative.
