Hana Sóholdt ("Hah-Nah")
Exile | Orphan | Exuberant Troublemaker
Lofthana Sóholdt (a.k.a. Hana)
Archivist’s Excerpt from: Alone in the Cold: The Story of Orphan Towne, its Strange History, & its Stranger Occupants, CVI 42.4
Resourceful, fierce, observant, resilient, infinitely sassy, Hana is loud but of few words, uneducated but curious and bright, and generally thinks with her stomach. Slightly erring on the crude side, Hana has no filter for her thoughts, and is as likely to belly-laugh as she is to belch loudly. Decorum is not her strong point, and neither is speech.
Though she is best known to most as simply Hana, thanks largely to her being lazily "renamed" by one Alvin Esker of Harchester, her actual name is as follows: Ahem:
Lofthana Engindaut cín Jalóheim fra Sóholdt. Translation:
Lofthana the Fatherless, Clan Jalóheim, from Sóholdt.
You're welcome.
Alvin Esker shortened her name for the sake of his own sanity, and in order to simplify all that phonetic nonsense. She accepted this immediately, as not only were her clan ties thread-narrow at best, but she prefers things simple anyway. She is intelligent, in her way, but not in the ways that many others admire, at least at a glance. She tends to have her own way of communicating, and picks up the vernacular of Orphan quickly, making a curious hybrid with her own Galó way of talking.
Nevertheless, there is something quite sincere about the girl, forthright to a fault, and protective. Hana is as as loyal as she is bold.
Always fond of climbing things, agile as a mountain goat, and swift to point out the most obvious solution to any problem (even if simply means offing somebody), Hana is generally found with her habitual Dust Lenses on her head, and a total lack of shoes whenever she can get away with it. She hates them. Truly.
Her parentage is unknown, as she was orphaned at a young age in Jaloheim, which she left under circumstances she prefers to not talk about. She worked at a simple stitchery while growing up, yet somehow remains incompetent at mending.
She's good at scrambling, though. Decisive, quick, and courageous in a way that rivals any warrior among the Galó or member of Orphan Heights' Constabulatory. Her lonely trek across The Shift managed to happen without death, and she made it all the way to Orphan Heights, a fate which led to her involvement in the Great Initiative in September of 1897.

Identifying Characteristics
Beneath a leather band on her wrist is a permanent mark, which she claimed was indication of her mission into Orphan Heights to retrieve The Dark Illumined Eye.
Apparel & Accessories
Though Hana continually keeps a snug layer of her original "wasteland" clothes, she is most often found in teals and blues. During her time in Orphan Heights, she is dressed over her basic layers by Tabitha Caroline Hartchild in simple blues and coppers common in Orphan Heights, which she swiftly ruins. A broad, floppy charcoal beret with narrow brim helps temporarily hide her blonde hair. She is also fond of the ivory scarf for which she "bartered" some allspice with old Edith Dutch of Harchester.
Specialized Equipment
Refractor on her wrist (no, not the marked one), permanently placed there by Alec Hartchild when he assumed she was Infused, not that she has a ruddy clue what it is
Social
Speech
Hana is known for a rasp to her voice not uncommon when living in The Expanse, and a tendency to name people according to simple references of her own devising, usually not flattering ones.
