The dangerousness of challenges

The Aliens' challenges can appear very dangerous from the outside, but most are actually quite safe. Challenges are supposed to be done at a slow pace, so as to not outgrow your education and training and the improvement of your skills.   Children starts with especially safe challenges, with difficulty and risks slowly increasing over time. Danger of injury only appears when they are old enough to understand the risks and avoid them, as well as when they are able to use psy energy to greatly enhance their natural healing.   Danger to the contestants' life only occurs in the higher levels of challenges, when victories are associated with considerable social status and the access to prestigious jobs. The most dangerous challenges are the trials and duels whose winners earn top political titles, especially for the royal and imperial thrones.   However, when individuals attempt to speed through a series of challenges, it is when the risks are higher. This is always the case of adults who begin a new them of challenges they never dealt with as a child, as they quickly grow impatient with the ease of the low levels and are under social pressure to catch up with their peers. The Babies are currently in this situation.
