The Babies' Alien quarters

The importance of the Babies' security

The Babies are Human-Alien hybrids, and their existence is extremely controversial among Aliens. A high number of people have loudly declared it was an insult to nature and that they should immediately be put to death.   Since King Népenthès is the one who discovered them, they are under his protection. Whatever his opinion about them, he earned a lot of prestige by rescuing the Aliens captured by the Humans, putting a end to their terrible experiments, and discovering and bringing back the Babies. So long as the Babies are alive and attracting everyone's attention, all these facts remain in people's mind and he will stay their favoured candidate for the title of Emperor. He therefore has a vested interest in the Babies' safety.   However, because the topic is so sensitive, King Népenthès cannot afford to have people say he is too close to the Babies and guiding them through the challenges, as many would think he is cheating and deliberately telling his officials to make the challenge easier for them. It is therefore essential for him to keep the Babies at a careful distance.

The Babies' quarters

Location: King Népenthès has installed the Babies in a highly secured tower that is inhabited by important people but that does not officially belong to his government.     The rooms: The Babies have been given five floors in the tower.
  • The top and bottom floors are occupied by their guards.
  • One floor is occupied by their individual bedrooms and bathrooms.
  • One floor contains living areas and a kitchen.
  • One floor is occupied by sport equipment so that they can train for the challenges away from everyone's eyes.
  •   Safety mesures:
  • Guards control all access to their quarters. Staircases link the floors together and lifts have been rerouted to only be able to stop at the guards' floors.
  • Jammers prevent anyone from spying on the Babies and on their communications.
  • The building itself is highly secured, with reinforced glass on all windows, cameras everywhere, and security teams regularly patrolling the air around the tower.
  • The babies are not allowed to leave the tower except to go to challenge locations, and even then they can only do so under heavy guard.
  •   However, very few among the Alien population are satisfied with this forced isolation of the Babies. A self-proclaimed fan club in particular is doing its best to obtain the autorisation to visit them.
