So that shell game resulted in Danar Vorpadaran being relocated, but largely unharmed.
Our (Captain Koleen's) hologrammatic model identified the command center and a few different ways to access it.
Captain Koleen had the idea for us to access a less-populated and less-guarded secondary bridge, likely to exist for a generation ship this size.
I included So'Zen's information and my droid scans and found the likely location of main Engineering and the likely secondary bridge.
It appeared the entire planet is the generation ship.
We suited up in appropriate gear. I equipped my Vor with a proper shield belt (without hologram emitter) and a loading machine. I also invited my new friend Kitari, and that maintenance droid with all the tentacles.
We surged to the location to find that the engine tests had blown and melted sand all over the area. The door was no where to be seen.
Together we searched and triangulated to find the nearest entryway from ground level, using So'Zen's montrals, Danar's Vynoc and rodent scans, and knowing the unique data crystal lattices of Kitari's Cestian durasteel body.
Brushing the dust off, Katari opened the door easily.
The large presumably carnivorous animal sleeping in the entrance was not a Kraytt dragon, which was nice.
So'Zen called it a Dagnoi, a Rock Bullette, which eats sand, but prefers sweets. He metaphorically "sweet-talked" the megafauna beast, while the rest of us gave our best impression of uninterested herbivores slowly flocking to the interior entrance door.
Suddenly, the creature tensed. So'Zen tried to calm it ... and succeeded. It actually hugged him.
Moments later, he joined us, leaving the sleeping megafauna behind us.
Searching the hallway, we found about 20,000 of Kitari's fellows in charge alcoves. Also a medical bay was here. And about 20 of perhaps Kitari's fellows who were active and perhaps hostile.
Kitari explained that this generation ship was always intended to travel to a destination with minable asteroids but no planet. The plan was/is for the ship to transform itself into a viable planet. An odd comment by Kitari gave me the impression that it was of vital importance for us to know if this was the intended destination. And the people who were testing the engines may have already figured out that information, or they might not know but certainly would need to know to do their jobs, whatever those jobs may be.
The plan was initiated more than 1000 Cestian generations ago, so we had to compensate for stellar drift. Suddenly we realized something. This was the primary destination, there was a secondary. Unknown why the population did not awaken upon arrival.
Down the hall, we overheard a conversation of the two who were taking control of this generation ship. They had teamed up to reroute to Chalcedon. But the ancient Cestian was not completely convinced that it was in his people's best interest. He was Horus. The other was (?) They had used the holographic shield technology invented by Danar Vorpadaran and revised it to cloak the entire planet / generation ship.
