I spent the evening with Hakiro. They and Sorvitsune showed up at the Wyvern's Tail, but almost immediately Sorvitsune peeled off to go and speak to one of their own kind, another dracthyr. Hakiro and I went into the Tail to have a drink and I told them of all that had gone on while they and Zagosh were down at the World Faire. Hakiro would like to help, I may get them together with Rory and see what hand they can lend to his investigations.
We were soon to be joined by Skarni and Zagosh as well. In short order after introductions were made, Skarni and Hakiro decided they would spar so we all adjourned to the Brawl'gar Arena for it. Hurskan joined us just as the fight was getting underway, though he did not approve of it in the least. I think it surprised us all when Skarni won.
I asked Hurskan if he would take Fezarro as an apprentice, he said he would take the measure of their heart and decide. It was no more than I wanted or expected of him, though I hope he finds the little vulpera worthy. Fezarro could stand to learn to defend themself.
It was hard to tell if Skarni and Hurskan got along. The young and their perpetual contempt for the old, along with Skarni's dislike of being given 'adages' as he calls them. Hurskan saw through him, though, Skarni is an orc lost that longs to be found. As a Farseer, it no doubt calls to him like a duty all its own. Skarni no longer has faith in the clans, so Hurskan suggested that Skarni attend the Kosh'harg that is currently in swing, a festival of orcish tradition that those not of orcish descent are not welcome to. So, I asked Hurskan if he might take Skarni and show him that there is a place for him still in the clans.
It was during that conversation that we learned that Zagosh also has some recalcitrance with his bloodline, being a mok'nathal, but Hurskan assured him that they were as welcome to the Kosh'harg as the rest of the clans. It took some convincing on all of our parts to get Zagosh to begrudgingly agree to go. So many troubled orcs. Hurskan may have his hands full as a Farseer, helping them to become unlost.
Skarni, Hurskan, and Hakiro all eventually left as sleep and other things called to them. Rory joined us and spoke to Zagosh further about his investigations into my Unknown Assailant. I told Zagosh some of my own inglorious past as to why I might have an assassin seeking my suffering or my death. He went on to suggest that these attacks were meant to weaken me for potential capture, given how formidable I might be as a Sunwalker. That is a consideration I had not taken into account before. On Zagosh's suggestion, too, I am considering hiring a bodyguard, at least until things are over. Provided I can find one that works out, that is. I travel much and have no intention of just idling around the city. A bodyguard will have to be able to travel where I do and not grouse about it.
Eventually, Sorvitsune showed up, so I took that as opportunity to excuse myself. They have taken every opportunity to NOT be around me whenever it has presented itself, so I did not feel the need to impose my unwanted presence upon them if they did not want it. I do not have it in me to stay where I am not wanted.
