Earth & Sky

by Sunwalker of An'she Het'heru Silvermane

Last night was the visit from Qiao's parents, while I do not dislike them I find some of the things they do to be rather peculiar. Such as their little "test" on the docks, what if all of us had been non-combatants? What if we were naught but bakers or fisherfolk? Would our lack of leaping to Qiao's defense then count against us? They seemed rather aloof of their daughter most of the evening and, while I can certainly understand they were likely overwhelmed by the sheer size of Qiao's entourage and friends' circle, it would have been an easy thing to dismiss us all in favor of spending time with the daughter they came to see. It was good to see Qiao so happy, though, and that she has found the closure she wanted. Hopefully, this will give her the courage to reveal herself to all the people she cares about back in Pandaria, the ones that she feels the need to enshroud and hide herself from lest she be recognized.

Tazzi's gift to Qiao was one of those... Atomic Recalibrators...? The odd little machine that transforms you into other races. I found I made a cutting figure as a Kul Tiran woman, but I also made a rather pleasing Kaldorei. I do not, however, make a very handsome male Dwarf. Nor male Draenei. I think the worst was the Void Elf female, though, such garish colors! All of us had fun with it, Tazzi found a Kaldorei form that she found rather pleasing, given her recent attraction to the moon. Would that I could have taken her to the Temple of the Moon in Darnassus -- but perhaps I could take her to the smaller one in Valsharah? I will consider this.

Rory kept running in circles through the recalibrator, almost as if he were trying to turn into something specific. It dawned on me that he was likely searching for a tauren shape. Sure enough, once he landed in a Highmountain brave's form, he picked me up and carried me off much to Tazzi and Qiao's chagrin. I confess there was something thrilling about being taken possession of in such a way, so I can understand why Rory has a preference for being grabbed and carried off when he is a vulpera. There's just an innate sense of *belonging* to this person, to say nothing of the intense need and want of my company behind it.

Needless to say, Rory's time in a Highmountain's form was not wasted. Truth be told, in a way, I was finally able to put young Het'heru to rest with the rest of her tribe. For one night, she was loved deeply by a strong shu'halo brave, who recited poetry to her in Taura-he, and made her feel as if the earth and sky both began and ended with her. For one night, all of young Het'heru's dreams came true.

You are my sun,
Without you my fields do not harvest.
Without you my trees do not grow.
Without you my flowers do not bloom.

You are my sun,
With you I fear no darkness,
With you I feel no cold,
With you I meet no misfortune.

You are my sun,
I will ever love you
I will ever seek you
I will ever walk your path.

You are my sun.
You are my love.
You are my hope.
You are my power.
