Osao Ocean
Osao's global tropic climates have seen the evolution of truly magnificent organisms, and the Osao Ocean is no exception. This ocean is located between all five continents on the planet and is a bustling highway for sea and sky travel.
The Osao Ocean is home to an abundance of marine organisms, including pseudo-sophonts, the echinops. Water-allergic slimes are gradually exploring more and more of this ocean, uncovering mysteries beneath the surface.
Geography, Location & Climate
Creating a dense lattice along the ocean's bed are coral reefs. These monolithic natural structures stretch for miles, ever-growing and evolving. These reefs are made up of millions of coral species, which in turn bring about millions of resident fish and other marine organisms.
The ocean's bed also see countless kelp and bulb forests, two commonly seen underwater forest variants. Both are bioluminescent, lighting up the pitch black waters.
The Osao Ocean features the planet's deepest point, within the Carawin Trench.
The ocean's Abyssopelagic Zone is between 4,000 and 10,000 metres below sea level. It sits below a field of floating rock and kelp forest so dense it blocks sonar. Scientists once thought the ocean's bed lied at 4,000 metres, but recently discovered it actually reaches about three times as deep.
This zone is the ocean's most biodiverse, with habitats and environments unique to this region. Just a few recordings of this zone exist; scientists have already begun to develop auto-piloted submarines to collect even more data about this secluded area and analyse its native life.
The Junction
The ocean's most familiar alternative name is the Junction. Due to its centralised location, almost all ocean and aircrafts travel over this region. Aircrafts utilise jet streams to move ten times as fast from destinations.
The reliability of these jet streams mean that aircrafts aren't often manually piloted. Theoretical highways following these jet streams have been created, minimising aircraft crashes and incidents to almost zero.
Oceancrafts are a much riskier method of travel, considering a slime's propensity for bloating when coming into contact with water. Gigantic vehicles with extreme safety in mind are used to move thousands of slimes at once across the Osao Ocean.
Sentry, the world's largest oceancraft, spans 505 metres in length and width, using surface currents to move at speeds of almost 35 knots. It is a holiday resort cruise liner with residents able to stay for more than a year at a time.
Ecology
There truly is no shortage of bizarre and colourful lifeforms in the Osao Ocean. Thousands of tropical fish species call the coral reefs home, in both shallow and deep waters. Tropical fish from this ocean are popular in aquariums for their bright patterns and personalities.
Great biodiversity has been observed, across both oceanic coordinates and depth. All five oceanic zones are home to unique organisms, with the Bathypelagic and Abyssopelagic Zones arguably containing the most endemic species.
This is so informative and 100% delightful at the same time! The Bulkhead Dolphinfish is my new favorite kind of fish. It's so cute! <3
aaaa thank you so much!! <33
