Taumah

Born from darkness, monsters first appeared during the Age of Heroes, when the Dark Mistress arose. Legends say they were created by the Tapu who served her—an army under their control that brought chaos and destruction to Whenua. Though their creator was destroyed, remnants of her power—known as dark ponds or pits— from which monsters are generated can still be found across the continent, especially near the Taiepa.
