Tőyōtkan Empire

History

The mightiest of empire, the kindess of states. The Tőyōtkan Empire was founded by the Great King Míreklmőt, a paragon of kindness. His life started as a spoiled child of the cruel king, but after he was mentored by an odd man, he went on to question his father, because of this his parents cast him onto the streets. Here, the king learnt many things about life as a homeless peasant, and how difficult it was, so he gathered followers and overthrew his father. From there his city-state grew prosperous, and he targeted the kindom to his north, Mekstad. He swiftly conquered the kingdom, and he then invaded the southern kingdom of Dení'a and conquered it as well. From there he improved life for all of his subjects, and the whole of Afespían lands were under his control and even a kingdom of Tunga vowed their loyalty. Míreklmőt died in a raid against the empire by the Pume to the west.

His son took control, but was swiftly replaced by his brother, as he was cruel and wished to pull back the reforms. The brother, named Dda'aríss, continued to reform the empire in a more pragmatic way, he was kind like his father, but would sometimes take things away from the people if he believed it to be against the people's well-being. Dda'aríss also conquered the northern tribes of Tunga, after they kept raiding the empire's frontier. Once the Tunga were conquered, they were introduced to agriculture, which would have been impossible to use up in the frozen wastes, but Dda'aríss acquired magic from the southern Elves which allowed for farmland to be made in the northern territories. Dda'aríss then gifted much food to the southern elves as thanks, thereby forming the beginnings of the Alliance of Men and Elves.

The Golden Age of Namiend began under Dda'aríss' rule because of the alliances that were formed. He helped the Tunga, the Elves, and later the Cin. The Kingdom of the Cin found their way to the Tőyōtkan Empire, and they started off with many gifts, good relations between Men and Cin would be high for many more centuries.

After Dda'aríss' death the world continued to honour him and his father by keeping the traditions of kindness going, good relations remained between the many kingdoms springing up, mostly in the Southern Elven lands, however, one notable kingdom arose after the death of Dda'aríss, that of Khazad, a kingdom run by the Mendeek dwarves beneath the Mendeek Mountains. It arose and hoped to be part of the world's golden age, but it was only there for a time, for it was only ten years after the Dwarves showed themselves that the Invasion of the Rot occured, and with it, the fall of the Tőyōtkan Empire. The Gôr Empire, ran by the Dhula Orks conquered its way down to the capital of the Great Empire, many fled forming in the invasion, and the Orks set up new City-States in the lands that were once belonging to the greatest and kindess kindgom in history.

Now, the successor to the Tőyōtkan Empire, the Kingdom of Ōkalía has vowed to destroy the Gôr Empire .

How the Nation was Run

Every city, even the capital city, had a ruler that ruled through the King, the Chintíría, and above them was the Sampatí, which controlled a region which the cities were in, and above them was the Kintatō, the ruler of the greater region, and above them were the rulers, the King or Queen. The King was the one who elected the Kintatō, and the Kintatō elected the Sampatí, and then the Sampatí elected the Chintíría. Now the people had a say in this as well, after two months of the Chintíría’s rule, the people can forced the Sampatí to elect a new one, and to ensure that the Sampatí doesn’t elect someone the people don’t like again, after a single month of the Sampatí rule, they can have the Kintatō elect a new one. And the king is told to elect a new Kintatō after the Kintatō has ruled for a month as well.

Culture

The main culture of the empire is the Afespian culture, with a large Tunga minority. Afespians and Tungas both share the same philosophy, which is shared by all Humans in Namiend.

Opportunity, education, balance, exploration, and freedom is the basis of Human philosophy. Human life is fleeting and every individual should have the opportunity to fully experience and embrace their humanity. They recognize the brevity of life and emphasize the imprtance of seizing the present moment, particularly during the youthful years when possibilities abound. The belief that there is a phase in life, usually between adolescence and early adulthood, is strong with humans, the primary purpose of life shifts from personal growth to the nurturing of younger generations. THere is a great importance on sharing knowledge, teaching skills, and offering support and solace to those who are embarking on their life hourney. Wealth and prosperity is important to humans, however, there is a point when one has so much wealth, that they disregard others, and stunt their journey in the world. This is seen as a moral decay or corruption of the soul. Humans hold a profound belief in the exploration of the world and the freedom to do so. The idea of a burial is seen as very disrespectful, and something to never do as it iconfines the sould to the depths of the Earth, thereby keeping it from continuing its exploration. Humans value personal liberty, the ability to make choices, and the absence of undue constraints. Autonomy to shape your own path is very important to humans, autonomy to pursue one's passions and deter their own demons is the most important thing to them. Human philosophy is based around the fleeting nature of their life. It requires you to guide and educate future generations, the pursuit of balance in wealth, liberation of the osuld in death, and the primacy of freedom in their lives. These principles fosters a society that seeks opportunity, values educations, embraces exploration, and cherishes freedom.

Demography and Population

In the Northern territories there is a sparse population of Tunga, inhabiting the largest parts of empire. They lived a nomadic tribal life, however, after the Afespían conquest, their nomadic lifestyle vanished. They remained tribal, but more central to the towns they live rather than going elsewhere. Afespíans are the majority of the empire and they inhabit the whole of the south, they were the first to discover agriculture in the first era, and were the first to begin city-states. They have the largest population, as well as the largest number of

Foreign Relations

They have great relations with the Elven kingdoms to their south, as well as great relations with the Kingdom of the Cin. Their later alliances include with the Dwarven kingdom of Khazad. Their last attempt at an alliance was with the nation of Gôr, however, the attempt failed, and the Orks of that kingdom eventually went on to bring the Empire to ruin.

Agriculture & Industry

The nation is an Agricultural power, with many areas being made for farming, and producing luxury foods, such as honey. They Have a large fishing industry as well, being along the coast. They began the breeding of horses, and later began to breed fish, so that there would be more. Through the breedings, they began to learn about how traits can be passed down, and two locations were set aside to create perfect fishing grounds, were they would catch fish, breed them, release those fish into the area, and then continue the process. The E'wshkara bay and the Alab bay were the two set aside for this. The Tunga also have a large blubber industry, with blubber being used in ritualistic feasts in Tunga lands, and used for delicacies in the south. As well as for food, the blubber is put in the Tunga's clothing so that they can remain warm in the cold north.

Trade & Transport

Tunga: Wood The Tunga peoples live in the Taiga, and one of their biggest exports are the Spruce, Larch, Pine, and Fir trees. They have one of the most wooded areas on Namiend, and because of that, wood is a very easy thing for them to get. Plus, Larch trees only grow in the Taiga, so it’s very common to see them. Furs The people of the Tunga tribes have a large number of animals with thick furs. They both hunt and breed them, giving them a large abundance of large furred creatures. The main furs they sell are Foxes, Hares, Lynx, Caribou, Grey wolves, Reindeers, and Moose. Blubber Although the Tunga usually keep blubber to themselves, they will occasionally sell it to people as it is used in many foods in the Afespían south.   Afespíans: Grains Afespíans mostly trade in wheat, barley, oats, rye, and even in some parts they can grow corn. They trade these goods with many different areas, as it is the best food to give to livestock, and to make bread, and for alcohol. Education

The empire took strong need for schools, it founded two different things for education to be given to children. Those who wish to join the army, and those who wish to be a craftsman. For the first 15 years of their life they are given free education to go in groups to learn everything they can from these different state-funded individuals. They learn things like fighting and strategy, history and literature, metallurgy and farming. After they turn 16, they choose what they want to be, and they'll go get a mentorship with someone, which can vary in costs, depending on the person as that is not state-funded. This makes the humans much more intellectually capable than the other peoples of Namiend.

Infrastructure

They have many forms of irrigation going throughout the cities, which is used both for farms, but can even be used as aquaducts, however, these aquaducts are above ground. They have many road networks, connecting the empire together, with a system for poastal, their roads are made of very simple concrete, which very quickly fell into disrepair when not tended to. The nation had many castles, with each city having a castle because of its city-state history.
