King Míreklmőt
The Great, The Kind, Míreklmőt Tőyō
Míreklmőt was the son of the King of the city of , at this time the Afespían kings viewed themselves as gods, and anybody who doesn't listen to them should be punished, and Míreklmőt's father was no different, he was, however, payed off by the brothels of the city to allow them to work undetered.
Míreklmőt was a spoilt child, with everything handed to him, that is until he became the ward to a very odd man, the man didn't have a name, preffering to have Míreklmőt call him 'sir,' and he taught Míreklmőt about how the gods truly wish for things, and how to be a good person. Míreklmőt began to grow in his empathy, and became a very kind individual, which led to conflict with his parents. This conflict ended when his mother had banished him from the castle, forcing him to live on the streets of Ssaegí'a. And his gaurdian, the odd man, was killed.
Míreklmőt lived in an alleyway next to a bakery and a brothel, the bakery was owned by a kind old lady, who sold the bread her sons grew to make a profit for the family, and the brothel was owned by one of the most powerful ladies in Ssaegí'a, who owned most of the brothels in the city. Míreklmőt didn't care for her, as he heard that she kept workers from getting enough pay to leave, only enough to stay alive, if they were payed at all.
The young boy decided he needed real food one evening, and decided to beg for it from the baker, she took pity on him, for she knew he was the young boy living in the alley next to her shop, so she gave him a piece of bread and told him that she would give him a meal every day if he would help her clean up the building. He hurriedly agreed, and became good friends with the lady.
A couple years went by and Míreklmőt was well known by many people in that region of the city, for he was a well educated boy that lived on the streets, which was very unusual. Míreklmőt himself had made good friends with one of the workers in the brothel, her name was Menthia, and she would tell him stories of days of old, and when he asked, of the cruelty of the brothels.
After six years of having been banished, on his 16th birthday, he stormed the brothel and threatened the lady in charge that if she doesn't put an end to the brothels, there would be consequences. The next day, he was about to walk into the bakery for the day, but he was grabbed by two mercenaries, and was being dragged to the brothel. They were suddenly stopped by a young man, only a year or two older than Míreklmőt, his name was Lankelí, son of a rich tradesman in the neighbouring kingdom, he asked the mercenaries why they were taking Míreklmőt into the brothel, and they threatened the boy. So Lankelí grabbed his rapier and stabbed one of the mercenaries, Míreklmőt then grabbed the sword from the other, and killed him. He explained to Lankelí why he was to storm the brothel, to which Lankelí wished to join him. So they entered, and when the woman saw them armed, fresh blood on their swords, she tried to escape, but they grabbed her, and took to the spot where public executions occur, and Míreklmőt announced to the people the woman's crimes, and that it was by order of the prince, and he revealed who he was.
After executing the woman, Lankelí offered to house Míreklmőt, for they both knew Míreklmőt would be hunted down, to which he agreed, and he lived in the neighbouring city for a year, and in that year he got his friend Gwinía to spread propaganda of the state in which Míreklmőt would create, and when public support was high, he returned, and his first act was publicly knighting both Lankelí and Gwinía. From there he armed the peasantry, and they began to storm the castle, when the battle seemed to only be won through a long siege, Míreklmőt told them of a plan in which the peasants would act as though they were returning home, but in reality they were setting a trap for when the king would send his soldiers out to execute the dissidents.
Right before the plan was to be enacted, the odd man from Míreklmőt's childhood had appeared to him, and gifted him with a sword that was crafted by the daughter of the god of the sea. Míreklmőt, now wielding a great weapon crafted from a god, he enacted his plan, and it worked perfectly, the castle had fallen in a day, and his father and mother were slain. Míreklmőt buried the crown of Ssaegí'a, and crafted a new one, and from there began to reform the city, keeping the promises he made. He shut down the brothels, and started schools, and did everything he could to improve the lives of his people. He even started a standing army, which was payed, and given meals, allowing them to spend most of their time training, and forming friendships, which made the army of Ssaegí'a far supreme to the militias of the other countries.
The kindness he had shown his people, and his hatred for the idea of kings being gods, led to his popularity reaching him from far out of his own city, and many revolts took place throughout the city-states of the age, allowing for Míreklmőt to conquer them. Swiftly he became the third largest kingdom, and the most powerful. He decided to free the people to his north in the kingdom of Mekstad, which was swift, even with Mekstad's mighty army. Then he went south, to the city of Dení'a, which was a hard fought victory. Míreklmőt reformed the lives of all the people around him, and he formed the first ever empire, the Tőyōtkan Empire, he founded a new way of governance, gave peopele easier means to make money. Life in Tőyōtmaa was at an all time high.
Míreklmőt's life ended when he was returning from the north, after having just accepted the vassalship of a Tungan kingdom. He found himself having to defend a small town from a raid being done by the Pume, and in that battle he died. Lankelí at his side as he always was. Míreklmőt was taken by a large boat, which disappeared as it had appeared, through the mist.
