Invasion of the Rot

The Conflict

Prelude

The Rot discovered a farmer by the name of Ashnag. He was corrupted by it and he founded the Empire of Orks named the Gôr Empire.

Historical Significance

Ashnag, Emperor of the Gôr Empire, started this invasion by brutally conquering the Orkish cities and taming many of the tribes. With them under his heel, he began the great invasion of the Tőyōtkan Empire. Nearing the end of Winter, with the Human's new year approaching, the Orks invaded the North. The plants turned white from The Rot's advance, yet nobody recognized it through the snow of the Őtō Forest. The Orkish soldiers swiftly conquered much of the North, including modern day Eehortas. They then conquered Peerwd and made it to Akimi. There the first true battle commenced, the battle for Akimi. This was a victory for the Orks, however the elephants they used rebelled, killing many Orks and setting the invasion back weeks. The Orks continued to push southward, mostly along the coast. They struggled significantly in the heavily wooded areas of the Őtō Forest, and against the well-trained Tőyōtkan army. However, the slaughter at modern day Mernerísws. The Orks murdered every single person living in the city and constructed from its ruins a great fortress. Thousands of Tunga fled to a small town south of the Mernerísws, now named Veta, or Vetatung, the Fleeing Tungas. Once the Orks pushed into the more Urbanized and less wooded areas of the Teass Forest, the invasion of the Tőyōtkan Empire was seen as at its inevitable end. The Tőyōtkan Emperor was dedicated to saving as many people as he could, so he had the navy move the populace to the islands and his Elven allies. The battle of Ssaegí'a was the most important, for it saw the destruction of the city and the death of the Emperor. However, in an act of sublime holiness, the gods gave power to a man who single-handedly fought off the whole army for weeks, allowing the citizens of the empire to flee. With the Tőyōtkan Empire destroyed, the Orks began to push southward again, conquering The Old Elven Kingdoms. However, they found a new kingdom surrounding the Opel Lake, the then Kingdom, later Empire, of Quilanra. They built a wall across the thousands of leagues of land which the Orks could not get past. For months they sieged the wall, trying to go around, but the Tőyōtkan navy kept the from it. Having spent so much time on the Wall, they gave up and started invading Eastward. They pushed through the more peaceful Eastern Elves with ease, but had another problem at the Battle of Malyо̄r Hill, where the new Albastí peoples, men who fled south-eastward from the invasion, took a stand and decimated the Orkish soldiers. The Orks wanted revenge for their fallen brothers, but Ashnag refused, for he believed the conquest of the Albas Hills were not important enough at that moment. They attempted to push into the Dwarven mountains, but could find no success, for the Dwarves were too powerful, so once again they moved east, finding themselves at the mighty Celdes River. Here, the Kingdom of the Cin was prepared, and had amassed a huge army waiting for them at the river, repelling any advance the Orks attempted. However, unexpectedly, Ashnag helped lead another force southward into the Exech Erfset, pushing deep into Cin territory. However, the newly settled Easterlings did not wish for this homeland too to be destroyed, so their leader Ruštun and the King of Cin with their forces won the greatest victory of the war, nearly imprisoning the Emperor himself, who quickly retreated to the west to quell rebellions.   The Battle in the East marked the End of the Invasion, and the beginning of the War of the Rot, where dark forces long imprisoned were freed by Ashnag and all that is good is in jeopardy.
