Akimi

The City of Akimi, likely meaning "Whose City?" It was once the center of the Tunga world, until it was destroyed by the Orks in their campaign against the Tőyōtkan Empire.   Rebuilt after the Invasion of the Rot, it once again became the epicentre of the Alkor City-State, which is centered on the city of Akimi. Still remaining one of the most important cities in the Tunga world, with many tribal peoples and settled folk making pilgrimages to it, although the reason for the tradition is lost to time and even the Tunga have differing reasons for doing so.

History

Founded in ancient days, it was the only settled area of the Őtō Forest. The city held great significance, and was referred to as, "Alçhala Mīmir" which is likely to mean "Route to Alçh", the meaning of Alçh is unknown, though believed to be a name. The city was populated by only a hundred people at a time, for most of its history. Rarely going over, and never going under.   Under the Tőyōtkan Empire, the city grew in its importance. It became the epicentre of the Empire's Northern Region and its centre of trade with the Ork Tribes. Its population grew drastically and was soon the third biggest city in the empire, behind only Mekstad and Ssaegí'a.   Under the Gôr Empire, the city was destroyed, however its importance to the local populace essentially forced the Empire to rebuild it. They did this with a light touch, as they were still in the middle of invading the Tőyōtkan Empire, but seeing the importance of the city caused it to be chosen as the centre of the Alkor City-State.   Under the Alkor City-State the city saw the greatest amount of development, becoming once again one of the centers of the Human world in size and population. This, however, unlike under the Tőyōtkan Empire, was expanded by the mass taxation and enslavement of others for the benefit of the city. It also is the farthest end of the ANA's Great Tunnel.
