House Alseera (all-see-rah)

House Alseera has long been wealthy, powerful, and shrouded in mystery. They produce many of the fine materials needed throughout High Durhum, as well as a good portion of the food. They have amassed great wealth through the high concentration of Gold that lies under their earth, and adorn themselves accordingly. Many are suspicious of their powerful religious class that is reffered to as "the sun cult", who are the followers of Scylla, an ancient diety native to the rainforests of the lands owned by House Alseera. Despite the scrutiny, none have found fault with their gold-tounged diplomats, and the skilled labor that they export and outsource to the 13 Houses Noble.

Seneschal: La'axenat Alseera Reigns as the current Seneschal, having taken over from her mother a decade prior. The half-elf is often seen Prowling the capitol, she is deeply embedded in the function and disfunction of the thirteen noble houses. Highly politically ambitious she has become second only to High Durhum's Vizier, and at the death of the previous Emir from House Mortaelis, she was appointed to also be the hand of King Zeredechia. Because of this she travels to all the kingdoms capitols regularily, and deals the High King's justice as he sees fit.
Grand Castellan: High Priest Lucretia Montenegro is both the head of the Covenant of Scylla, and the Grand Castellan of House Alseera. She has an unusual amount of power due to the busyness of her Seneschal, and acts as the regent of the kingdom in her stead. The promotion of the worship of Scylla is heavy handed in her diplomacy with other Noble Houses, however, she is a cunning politician in her own right, and knows just when to concede her point.

  Lower Courts:
All the religous leaders in the Covenant of Scylla comprise roughly half of the lower courts of House Alseera. The other half are your usual Nobility and Royal Family. This unusual system garners some amount of scrutiny, however, they run a productive, profitable, and stable kingdom. Moreso than most. There is a faint thread of tension between the two halves of the lower courts, however. Slight power imbalances caused by the colision and symbiosis of church and state corrodes relations amongst the nobility and the Ecclisiasty.
