Every port claims to be the gateway to the wider world. And I can see the truth in this. There are many things we don't have here in the Commonwealth of Edria, things I've only read about. It's another reason I would like the borders open, reading is not the same as seeing, touching, smelling, and just expriencing what's out there. Dear Infinite Grace, what is it really like out there?
The citizens of Torat wouldn't be the first to do beautification projects in an area like the North Slums. These projects do have a positive affect in the areas they are done in but they don't get to the heart of the problem: the poor living conditions, lack of options and money, and the lack of improving one's station. Until these are addressed these areas will always have problems, such as a higher crime rate.
Would the agricultural techniques discovered in Glass Orchard help our tenents? My father may not speak much of it, especially to me, but I've got ears, and I hear just fine when I'm join the family at the important gathering. I'm looking through agricultural books and everything connected to see if I can find a way to help. Just because there aren't issues every year doesn't mean there isn't a way to make improvements. Wouldn't that mean less problems for the tenets in the years to come? It would ease my father's mind, help my brother out when it's time to take up the mantle of the Earl of Hawkport. Family is important.
