Welcome my friends, to "Twice Told". This challenge is the celebration of my second Anvilversary - I have had an incredible second year. And its all thanks to you, dear reader.
And since its the second year, we will tell our tale: twice. But what does that mean you may ask?
We will tell two tales about a person, a place or anything at all of your choosing- one tale of its past, one tale of the present. Staying true to the theme of two, for this challenge you will have to write TWO articles instead of one, but you will also get two months to do it. Let's delve into the details!
Do I need to write prose/a specific template?
Not at all, both of your articles you can choose any style or template as long as your submission fits the prompt somehow.
How long do my articles have to be?
To be eligible, both articles have to be at least 300 words each (real words, excluding BB code) long. You have the option to rework an old article as long as the prompt fits.
How much time do I have?
The challenge will run from the 28th of September to the 28th of November. (yes, TWO months)
Submissions have to be entered within that time frame to count.
How do I submit an article?

Are there rewards? Is this a judged challenge?
No, this is not a judged challenge, but I will read all the submissions. All participants can grab their participation badge to the right once they submitted their articles.

Write about..
Pick a thing, a place, a person - anything at all. Then, write two articles: One article that tells a tale from its past , the other article describing how it is now, in the present.
Need a few examples? A tale of the cruel deeds of a villain, now trying to redeem themselves. A hero, once ruling the battlefields , now fallen down on his luck? Is it a city, once fallen in disrepair, now rebuild as a shining beacon of hope? Or a mighty sword, once the symbol of a house without equal, now lying broken, rusted amongst the ruins of former glory? Its your tale to tell.
All of these could be your story - or is it something else entirely?
