New World

  The New World is a hot continent in the southeast, surrounded by three oceans. It is made up of two distinct regions, separated by a large mountain range in the middle. The New World is the largest continent in the world. Residents of the New World use the local name for their continent. When the continent was cleansed during the Age of Triumph, people first described the land as the New World.
  The New World is a continent in the southeast of Dankar. It is close to the Equator, where the sun shines the brightest, and can get very hot in the summers. The New World has a large land mass and has the distinction of being surrounded by the most oceans on the planet. It is surrounded by the High Seas in the north, the Southern Sea, and Phadoya Sea to the west.
 

Geographical Regions

The New World is separated into two regions by a large mountain range called the Maizipo. It is a mountainous region that was once fully corroded by Necranis. However, the mountains and the plants around them have become healthier in recent years.
  When the Maizipo grew, the western half of the continent dried up. This region became known as the Kursaja by locals. After the desert formed, large swathes of the region became uninhabitable for humanoids, and they started moving to places with oases. Tall forest trees died over time and smaller xerophytic plants grew in their places.
  In the east, there is a huge rainforest region known as Vinjali. As it was looked after by Sentinel Nadja, the trees were left to grow tall and many animal species made a home in the rainforest. However, it is mainly known as the homeland of the Arja and the Elves, who have a historically tense relationship. There are many other humanoids living in the rainforest, but most live in the southern areas.
 

History

In the past, the old rainforest was completely corroded and the plants and animals were dying thanks to Necranis. However, the Phylo Dragon Kalico and his apprentice Nadja healed most of the region at a great cost to themselves. Despite this, they mostly succeeded and allowed the area to flourish. Over time, people came from The Mainland to explore previously uncharted territory and settle there.
  As the continent was so huge, there were a few trade routes to go from one end of Avidaya to the other. This in turn made the established countries richer as they could easily buy and sell from within, rather than relying on the Mainland. During the Age of Triumph, Avidaya became a treasure trove of riches, and a powerhouse of knowledge. Famous academies like the Academy of Naskaya were established during this time as well.
  However, a mountain range formed in the middle of the continent and grew over the course of a century. Eventually, it grew to a point where people could no longer cross from the east to the west as they used to. To make the same journey, they now had to cross over the mountains, meaning fewer people did. After a few more decades, the western half of Avidaya dried up and became what is now the Red Desert. The eastern half remained a tropical rainforest and is now known as the Jade Rainforest.
