Did I anger you, Brother?
I am sorry. I am so sorry for whatever it was I did that has made you punish me so.
I was so grateful for the the gentle light you provided in the lower levels of the boat. I thought that, maybe I am finally alright? Maybe I can close my eyes and rest until Denna's waters are no longer below us?
The room I ran to was not the vacant one. Or, I thought that it was, for a while... until they came. A metal creature, but not like the mechanical bodied ones that stand like a man, and the woman that was with it. She was very kind to me, even after finding me. We ate warm food, and she told me her name was Gidget. It was nice to not feel hunted.
But you know this peace did not last.
The ship... it fell, Brother, and they say it was because of a long creature with sharp fingers and no eyes. Is this my doing? Did the Choir follow me, and now... so many people will never go home?
I thought I was one of those people, Little Bug. Nothing from last night makes sense. We landed very harshly in the water and my head hurts as much as my shoulder does. We were rescued by a woman on a dragon who had wings like a Keeper. Surely you understand why I thought I had departed?
She was still there when we awoke. Kiíellièn is her name, and now we are on a metal craft with spindly legs that Gidget provided. Silas - a beastfolk that is a cat; he also escaped with us - knows the way to the closest civilization. He is with the Black Axel, surely this is the safest place to be right now?
I am sitting in one of the cushioned seats, watching the long legs clack against a dead land I do not recognize. These people... they are kind, but they talk a lot. And as I write you now, I can't help but wonder... are these people what - who - you sent us to look for? Are your paintings being made anew because a Keeper truly is here to lead us into a new time? She is not just a strange fanatic?
She has a very old stringed instrument that she says she knows how to play, but she has said and done a lot of very strange things recently. Silas had said we are about three hours away from where we need to be. I may as well listen.
Keep Me Strong,
Xhoya
