I by no means think I have seen everything, Brother, but each time I think our day to day life could not get any stranger, somehow it finds a way.
Kiíellièn revealed another collectors item; a pocket home, owned by a small woman named Polly. We were able to enter, somehow, and also took on a much more small and simple form. It makes me wonder - is this how you see us? It is comforting, feeling like we are also tucked safely in your pocket. When we awoke, we found that another was keeping an eye on us as well.
My scribing of circles is not just my idle thoughts. We met another Beastfolk - a cat like Silas. Little Orange Man is his name, and this circle is his work. It was entirely around the floating car, keeping all of us safe through the night. After some questions and answers, he led us to Jaxion (he had left ahead of us again) and the Sol Child he had met earlier named Dar’kindor. He is a Rustsworn - I had no idea that they lived so far away. It must be very lonely, but he did say he had a brother of his own in the rust-eaten valley.
He told us of something called Blackrust; a pox that doesn’t eat metal but the minds of those that inhale it. He said they were mites, and from that, suggestions that maybe Kiíellièn has a way to speak with them, and we will simply be able to ask them to leave. But we also learned that Dar’kindor has a clutch of his own, trapped within the mountain and being forced to try to wake the beast within it. So, now we are faced with a more complicated process. Not only do we need to remove the Deremitru, but now we also have a rescue mission. In addition, we must sabotage whatever is trying to wake up the great scorpion.
Not to mention our entire cube forming process.
Dar’kindor is very wise in the ways his lands worked, and provided us with a balm that would keep Echo from harm - the same that Jaxion had been bleached by. Gidget and Echo found a solution for the Blackrust by crafting masks of glass and leather, with filters to keep the mites at bay. It was during us brainstorming how to protect ourselves that we began to wonder: is the Sharp Fingered Man also able to rust? Simply because he is powerful does not mean that he does not have the same physical weaknesses that, say, Echo might. It is worth remembering at least, and worth trying.
Our allies reminded us that Petunia was a seamstress, and may be able to help us remain unseen through… hopefully everything. I do not know what order things will fall in, but maybe after tonight, I will have more clarity. Because after tonight, I know things will be better.
Welcome Home,
