Preydrus, Day I

Blessed Hunt, Brother!

I do not think I have ever been away from home for Preydrus. The mornings were always exciting, with every home smelling of cured meats and roasting root vegetables. It was a good breakfast to prepare for a long day of activities!

This year, the Holiday welcomes us like the starving hound welcomes the rabbit. They followed, Brother. The Choir still visits me at night; shows me strange and horrific things that should not be seen, and I know now, that they also see things. I watched the shadows crawl from the windows and twirl a gnarled finger around Gidget's hair. I told her to not sleep by windows tonight, and I hope she listens.

Preydrus' morning meal is cooked by a metal, round creature with multiple arms. We have been calling him B-Yu, but I do not know if that actually is his name. Do not worry though, I was sure to greet him properly.

I wish that I could continue to tell you all of the unique things I am seeing, but right now, the only thing I can see is the telecaster, continually streaming the word 'WAR.' I keep telling myself, it can not be true, they would not do that. There are far too many unknowns, how could either of our countries try to point the blame on one another? Alcyon, another city here, also felt tragedy and horror. Buildings larger than our tallest spires had collapsed, wreathed in fire like a hug no one welcomed. The screens here continue to play the horror, but Silas slowed it down enough to see him: the metal man with the pointy fingers, and I am certain now, Little Bug. This creature, the 'Gazelle' - I have seen him in my sleep. He is one of them, but does he lead them, or does he follow?

Whatever his position might be, he seems to know we are here.

A package was delivered. When Silas opened it, there was a strange metal... box of some sort. But he recognized it. He said it was part of the ship, something that the Navy claimed to have (but how, when it is clearly right here? Is there another? ). The strange piano and other things in the home allowed him to open it. It was strangely beautiful, Brother, and reminded me of you; all of these numbers and shapes that created beautiful lines and pictures, until soon, it came together, and I saw it. The strange shape that cried in anguish, bleeding the souls of the dead into nothingness. I thought maybe it used the departed to power itself, but now I wonder... is this what will happen if this object falls into the Gazelle's hands? Death so grand that the rivers of souls run over?

The group is wanting me to stay protected, and while I certainly agree with them, they have given me a weapon. A blaster of some sort, the size of my leg. I could not rightfully refuse - that would bring about more questions than I would like. But, I do not know how well I will be able to use it. I am still nursing my wound, surely holding it against me would put my healing back days.

Silas has said that guests will be coming, but as I write this, the windows and doors of the house have been hidden beneath dark panels. I do not know how we will have guests if we can not even open the door? Then again, he has many surprises. One of them is his ability to fall asleep so quickly. B-Yu has made tea, and I think I will try to rest as well.
