I’ve done it Brother!!!
The cube - it makes sense! I do not quite know how to put it together, but how and why it does what it does, I do! Do you think Highness will be excited? I do not think a letter would reach him, but when we make it home I will have many stories to tell! … If… I get home. Will you tell him for me, if I can not do it myself?
The next step - after we can create it - will be to get the sharp fingered man to come after it. While I understand its workings, I do not know why it speaks the way it does to those around it. If we did not know one of these had been taken apart, I would almost think it alive, calling for anyone to lift it and feed upon them if they can not bring it something to eat first. Gambit had an idea to expose the original cube only for a short moment to get his attention. It may be our best option, unless I find more answers than monsters in my sleep tonight.
There has been another development. Kiíellièn has confirmed what we knew all along Brother - she IS a Keeper. Well… she denied this, but the likeness to The Scholar is uncanny. I am finding that, while we all seem to want to trust eachother, many secrets are still being kept and untruths left in their place. We will be creating another one. Lux had an idea to introduce her as her student of sorts, and so we must weave more stories to have answers for questions that may come up. And if they have seen the things I have… they would have many, MANY questions.
Toad was real. He was not a fancy machine, and more still, she had another living in her hair. Not a toad, another Sol Child. He was very small but very smart, and all these happenings just create more questions in my head, Little Bug. She brings creatures that are only told in stories, she has wings like those only seen during Great Dyings, and now she also says she is not from this ‘realm.’ There is no ‘logical reason’ for all of these to line up right now, besides the truth that we have all long since accepted.
Jaxion is anxious to leave. He is hurriedly helping us pack, but I think he may have fallen asleep against the button that makes the machine scream. I do not know how long it will be before I can safely write again - we are looking for a way through the mountain. I hope it is more simple than we expect.
To Stable Paths,
Xhoya
