Oni
Oni are the results of the union between humans and devils, two types exist Pureblood & Vileblood. Despite the infernal blood flowing through their veins very few where malicious people but where shunned and faced discrimination due to their infernal heritage. After years of time for the people to accept the existence of these people some Oni dwell in many cities around the world coming out of the secrecy and brutality they had to endure in the dark ages.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Oni have the anatomy of humans, the usual amount of limbs but many had the eyes of reptiles, tails, scales resembling devils, & some even had horns. Much like elves they have magic intertwined with their cells giving them innate magic. Some develop traits similar to devils such as reptilian scales, reptilian eyes, wings, tails, horns, hooved feet, ECT.
Biological Traits
Oni most of them have a resistance to heat, while other types may not. All have great vision in the dark. Some may develop wings, horns, & tails although those Oni are closer to devils than the others. They had innate magical power tied to devils being able to produce clouds of darkness, act like phantoms, & emit flames from their hands.
Some oni, strong enough who go through enough stress can unlock the Foul Legacy form albeit it's incredibly rare. This form is the amalgamation of infernal hex magic & human potential the oni using it will grow 6 wings, and be exponentially stronger although they must work to not go berserk in this form.
Genetics and Reproduction
Oni can reproduce with each other and others with human genes. They reproduced sexually having a gestation period of 6 months. Female Oni don't have menstrual cycles but rather have periods of heat being at their most fertile for up to 10 days.
Growth Rate & Stages
Oni matures at the same rate as humans becoming toddlers at the age of 4-8. They become children at 9-12 and when they become 13-18 they become adolescent and go through puberty when they transition from child to maturity. The prime of their youth is in their 20's like humans and they decline in physical aptitude as they get past 40. Once they reach 60 they are elderly and continue to decline until they die usually at 110.

Oni like humans are omnivores requiring the five food groups for optimal health.
Biological Cycle
When Oni go through a new state of development it the possibility of a fiendish trait manifesting rises although it doesn't always happen. If an oni is ever sick their skin changes color to a deathly white hue. Female Oni enter a state of heat every 6 months.

Oni are spread out around the various planets like in Midgard after the Raven Wars. They dwell in many regions of Zodia accepting others like Thebes, Vanahiem, Lunala, Brimstone, Maginhild ect.

Major Organizations
- The Forsaken: One of the most prominent oni factions in the dark ages of zodia known to live in an ivory citadel deep in the woods. The Forsaken we're bloodthirsty and very effective at getting what they needed for their people. Being made from vilebloods the Forsaken we're lead by a man named Revius, The Vileman through his leadership his people prospered through brutality and slaughter of any humans they find in the lands. They were known to eat the people they kill they were also in constant competition with the Whisperers.
- The Whisperers: A oni faction that was known for their stealth and skill as thieves and assassins. They were founded by Citan, The Assassin's Blade, a man who led his people to secrecy living in an underground network originally occupied by goblins. Their skill with stealth and blade was well known as many people would feel fear at the mention of them fearing for their lives and items.
- The Untamed: A pureblood faction that was well known for their affinity in arcane magic. During the dark ages a time when people with magic would be killed people often were found by the Untamed and taken into their ranks. They had many wizards, bards, and artificers being able to manufacture magic items that they sold to others outside of their own mountainous citadel. They were founded by Urakos, The Devil Mage who had mastered evocation magic and would leave traces of elemental energy when he fought. It was this oni faction that eventually led to some oni acceptance in human settlements.
- The Soul Stealers: An asgardian oni faction that was known for practicing dark magic necromancy at most. They would frequently steal souls in the Raven War and make undead to fight others, often wiping out villages and strongholds adding death to their ranks. They were known to clash with Mavis and her druids a lot as they used blight to evolve their undead. The Soul Stealers were founded by Zormeros, The Lord Of Demise, a man who saw beauty in death.
- The Scarlet Sabers: A oni faction that was known for their heroism around the world of Avalon founded by Arkxikas, The Scarlet Slayer. Through their efforts many people were spared from being killed by many other groups like orcish clans, soulless raids, ECT. They originally lived in their fortress at the edge of Phigan but the group integrated with the nephilim in Avalon.
Beauty Ideals
Despite the discrimination from others the oni took pride in their infernal traits. The more infernal traits they showed the more attractive they are.
Gender Ideals
Oni were similar to humans with the concept of gender as oni males would be the soldiers, hunters, & defenders while the females would remain home and tend to the children of the family. These roles were typical but not super rigid as a female oni could always enlist to be in more combative roles as the innate magic gave them an edge regardless of the differences between genders.
Courtship Ideals
Oni often use their hex magic and other infernal traits for courting. Their tails wrapping around their bodies, massaging their horns or wings, these acts are used for gaining the romantic affection of another. These don't have to be initiated by the male as females can initiate the courting.
Relationship Ideals
Oni values the relationships they have with each other whether it's platonic friendship or romantic relationship. To forsake these bonds is one of the ultimate offenses an oni can do. To oni these bonds of love will remain until death cuts them.

Oni used typical weapons like swords, shields, bows, crossbows, although they have more advanced forms of technology in the form of their innate hex magic and the now shunned hex arms.

The magic of devils given to the oni upon their birth despite their power being vast at the start it dwindled through genetic dilution now their magic is much weaker.Hex Arms
Powerful weapons made in the dark ages, when hex magic in the oni was much stronger, a spell that imbued infernal essence into weapons to make deadly magic weapons although this came from the blood sacrifices of oni.- Shadow Blade: A popular cursed sword that could coat the blade in blue & black mist and spread it in wide areas that could leech life from anyone in range and make the user stronger.
- Hell's Fury: A deadly cursed weapon in the form of a crossbow that fired explosive hell fire bolts that could burn the souls of those who died in the flames and would make poisonous ashes in a wider area.
- Crown Scepter: A popular cursed weapon in the form of a staff that could dominate the minds of others on a large scale and was used to destroy settlements in the dark ages as well as combat the order of light.

Oni came from the union of humans and devils being treated as monsters for their looks and innate magic. They left human settlements and formed factions for their own survival and a sense of community. After centuries of fighting for their one people they have found acceptance in others and have been living among other races for a long time lending their aid wherever they can.
Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals
- Community: Oni children often form small groups and cliques among each other for the perceived idea of security and strength. This typically ends in adulthood.
- Blood Cremation: When Oni are dead they are typically cremated with the blood of their loved ones to symbolize being with them to the afterlife.
- Infernal Tongue: Oni would often speak infernal when speaking to each other even in the presence of others to stop anyone from listening to them.

- Oni take pride in their traits to hide them for the comfort of others is shameful showing insecurity and self-loathing.
- Conversing with devils is highly taboo knowing what they did in the early days; Oni who would interact with their oppressors were often shunned.
- Interacting with other races in the old days was frowned upon as they only sought to harm them.
- It's highly taboo to fight amongst themselves as they have to stick together and conflict will only make them weaker.
History
Oni where born from the union of humans & devils in two main groups the Pureblood Oni made by Ares during an event called the "Great Conflagration" and during the age of disparity when humans were swallowed by tears and taken to hell they interbreed with devils and made Vileblood Oni. The Oni were branded as monsters due to their lineage of being tied to devils, during the dark ages of zodia they often formed groups together for their own prosperity called factions. Oni factions were typically bandits to others using their advantages and magic to steal what they needed from humans and other people. They were often either a vileblood faction or a pureblood faction as during this time this difference divided them as purebloods saw themselves as superior. Their lifestyle made their existence on the radar of many as humans and elves would fight them.
It wasn't until centuries later that Oni eventually became integrated into human cities and found the gods after the dark ages, worshiping many zodian gods like Ares, Capricorn, Scorpio, Gemini, ECT.

- The Legend Of The Infernal Hunts: The legend that marks the hate & distrust Oni have for other races depicting the graphic brutality done by the humans, elves, half-elves, haloin, and celestials. Many Oni like to leave it in the past but others still hold on to the pain, eager to return it.
- Oni are degenerates and care little for moral values and only carnal pleasures.
- Their language are unholy incantations.
- They plan to be slum lords and criminals
- Oni are orphans who never had loving caretakers.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
- Devils: One of the parent races of the Oni despite being born from them Oni have no love or respect for their fiendish anscentors. Devils have tormented them, demeaned them, treated them like possessions. Oni hate devils with a passion and many will often seek their permanent deaths.
- Humans: One of the parent races of the Oni originally they looked up to the humans they once were but centuries of mistreatment and distrust put a strain on the relationship. Humans in the dark ages would either shun them or go out of their way to hurt them leading to Oni eventually fighting back and making a history of violence and mistrust. Eventually humans & Oni find some peace and trust between each other but others remain in the past.
- Elves: From the start there was mistrust between these two races with elves coming from nature and Oni in their eyes aren't a part of it, only the unholy offspring of the frail and greedy humanity & the vile devils. Elves would be one of the main groups hunting down oni factions should they ever trespass on their abode and many elves don't care for Oni.
- Half-elves: The offspring of humans & elves often living in human settlements and having the same disdain. Many half-elves indulged in the same behavior of their human anscentors. To Oni half-elves we're no different than humans or even elves. Like with other races, Oni and half-elves find some common ground together and repair some of the scars.
- Celestials: The ultimate enemy of their fiendish anscentors and by extension them. Celestials often saw Oni as worse than humans, while humans sin, Oni are intermingled with sin. During the dark ages the celestials would often hunt and hurt Oni if they happened in range of their senses. Oni would try to hide from celestials but some would take up arms and fight only to die. Many Oni don't care for celestials or the divine due to the suffering they caused and if they ever lived under a gods banner it wouldn't be with gods that embody such views.
- Haloin: The offspring of humans and celestials the relationship between these races weren't good from the start either as the era 1 haloin were led by devas who believed in the hateful bigotry of celestials. While there was a lot of conflict between these races there was the rare occasion that they worked together to achieve a common goal. The bond improved immensely once era 2 haloin were more popular as there was no deva to guide them to extreme celestial ideologies.
