Avalonian
People native to Avalon under Merlin's rule in the Arconis Solar System. These people despise God's & Divinity getting by on arcane magic & building a prosperous Empire through the arcane arts. The avalonians were incredibly gifted in magic and their society was ruled by mages, the most powerful ones being the Mystalia Dynasty founded by Merlin the son of the eidolon mage mystogan & arcane seraphim arcaniel. As people who adore the use of arcane magic they abhor divine magic looking down on those who don't work for their magic as well as looking down on those who don't use magic to its highest potential like arcane knights.
They are known to have the strongest military in the arconis system using arcane knights & undead as foot soldiers, evokers as artillery, conjurers for extra support and fast movement, as well as many magical ships fitted with a myriad of effects. Avalonian society is used to having their high amount of magical technology arcane items ready for trade, floating landmasses, indestructible barriers, ECT.

Avalonians are a culture that prioritizes arcane magic & benefits the arcane users. Their civilizations are run on magic as well as their defenses, using most of their intelligence and arcane prowess. With Avalonian Nephilim Divinity is an abhorrent magic that rewards the lazy and only through the determination of the arcane can someone truly thrive.
Avalonian society favors those who fully dedicate themselves to the arcane wizards, bards, artificers they have a place at the top while other arcane mages who didn't work for their magic like sorcerers & warlocks are shunned by their society. Those who try to incorporate both martial prowess as well as arcane magic are also low in the class system of avalonians; arcane knights & rogues are on the same level as sorcerers & warlocks despite them making up 50% of the military and police force. The absolute lowest and rarest in avalonian culture are divine mages also called spellbeggars represent the danger of being reliant on higher powers divine mages are victim to much discrimination by the avalonians.

Avalonians believe in their brethren making a rule not to harm each other & to do so would be a personal attack on all of them. They adore arcane magic as it lets them perform extraordinary feats with diligence & effort while hating divine mages for the ease it had to gain their immense magic.
Average technological level
The Technology of avalonian where entirely magical using it to make their settlements fly, magic locks in building, arcane eyes scouting the settlement ect. The Magical effects were prolonged through a Nethryl & they mass produced scrolls with the Arconis Tree.
Avalonian Infrastructural Technology
- Nethryl: A large crystal acting as a battery for the magical effects of avalonian cities.
- Arcana Radar: A large sentry tower in Ikavion tracking the use of spells, keeping track of mages, can pinpoint the specific type of magic a mage uses enabling them to tell if someone is a pure mage, or one of the lesser mages or divine mages. The guard & military carry much smaller radars for their work.
- Arcana Shield: A wristlet worn during arconis flares protecting their magic from being disrupted by the flare.
- Arcane Scrolls: Made through the special paper made from the bark of the Arconis Tree the avalonians place spells in scrolls for later use this makes up a large portion of their marketplace.
- The Arcane Womb: Invented by Merlin & Nimue Mystalia through this arcane items could be made in mass aiding their people and driving their market.
- Arcane Cores: A secondary form of scrolls made by the high mages used to fuel avalonian artillery
- Atlas: A high magic spell that keeps avalonian settlements afloat 50,000ft. in the air.
- Arcane Barrier: Avalonian defense, a city wide barrier that blocks incoming attacks, stops teleportation, inhibits divine magic ECT.
- Enchanting: Separate from the school of magic involving the manipulation of mind & heart enchanting is the practice of making weapons, armor, & items imbued with magic.
- Warp Drive: A device made with the aid of the fabled Black Knight used in all avalonian ships allowing them to make planar crossings across the realms.
- Warp Network: A network of portals all around Avalon allowing faster travel between cities & encampments

Weapons
- Avalonian Wand: A standard arcane focus for apprentice mages made from the wood of the arconis trees.
- Avalonian Staff: A standard arcane focus for full fledged mages made from the wood of the arconis tree.
- Avalonian Scepter: An arcane focus standard for arc mages made from the wood of the arconis tree & having a shard of arcanium at the top. These use to be readily available but after the "Mystalian Massacre" and the arconis was crippled production of this stopped and only a few remain.
- Avalonian Blades: A pair of sharp shortswords typically used by avalonian rogues made from the avalonian steel adorned in arcane runes. These runes make the blades sharper & deal extra poison or corrosive damage.
- Avalonian Crossbows: A pair of wrist mounted crossbows adorned in arcane runes typically used by avalonian rogues to fire high damaging bolts at their quarry. These bolts can deal extra fire, cold, lightning, corrosive, or poison damage.
- Avalonian Broadswords: Used by avalonian knights & bards, an 8ft. long avalonian steel heavy sword, adorned in arcane runes. These runes enchant the blades to be sharper and deal either fire, cold, or lightning damage.
- Avalonian Claymores: Used by avalonian knights & bards, a 7ft. long avalonian steel sword adorned in arcane runes. These runes make them sharper like the broadsword & deal extra force damage.
- Avalonian Spears: Used by avalonian knights, a 10ft. long spear made of avalonian steel adorned in arcane runes. These runes allow for greater range when thrown, the ability to be recalled from range, & leave lingering poison.
- Avalonian Javelins: Used by avalonian knights, 6ft. long javelins made of avalonian steel adorned in arcane runes. The javelins can be thrown and explode dealing fire, cold, or lightning and leaving a 10ft. radius of elemental energy.
- Avalonian Lances: Used by avalonian cavalry, 12ft. long heavy polearm weapons adorned in arcane runes. These runes allow the lance to deal extra force damage.
- Avalonian Rapiers: A primary weapon of avalonian bards adorned in arcane runes. The runes make it sharper & deal extra psychic damage.
- Avalonian Mauls: Used by avalonian knights adorned in arcane runes enabling extra force damage & pushes back the target.
- Avalonian Blunderbuss: Made by avalonian artificers, a shotgun that fires a spread of elemental bullets in a short ranged cone.
- Avalonian ScatterGun: Forged by artificers a rifle that fires elemental proximity shrapnel in a large cone.

- Avalonian Mage Armor: Armor made for avalonian mages of the Mystalian Vanguard clothing adorned with runes making it mimic the magic armor spell.
- Avalonian Leather Armor: Made for avalonian rogues black leather armor adorned in arcane runes granting the user a resistance to elemental damage, short ranged teleportation, & being unable to be detected.
- Avalonian Half-Plate Armor: Used by avalonian knights incorporating the dexterity of the warrior adorned in arcane runes. These runes further enhanced the hardness of the armor & grants a resistance to elemental damage.
- Avalonian Plate Armor: Used by avalonian knights adorned in arcane runes further enhancing their hardness & granting resistance to elemental damage.
- Avalonian Steed Armor: Avalonian armor built for the warhorse mounts of light cavalry adorned in arcane runes. These runes enhance the speed and durability of the warhorse.
- Avalonian Aerial Armor: Armor built for the heavy aerial Griffin mounts of avalonian heavy cavalry adorned in arcane runes. These runes increase the speed and strength of the Griffins.
Avalonian Artillery
- Avalon Sentry Turret: Invented by avalonian artificers firing heavy elemental energy bolts that explode upon impact.
- Avalon Mortars: Invented by avalonian artificers firing condensed elemental energy bombs leaving large areas of elemental energy.
Avalonian Ships
- Altair: An avalonian dropship equipped with a teleporter and the capacity for 5,000 avalonian soldiers. The Altair is adorned in arcane runes enabling invulnerability.
- Evokion: An avalonian warship used to defend the Acheron adorned in arcane runes enabling the use of evocation spells.
- Acheron: The strongest ship in the avalonian military commanded by avalonian generals. The Acheron can make a solid barrier around itself blocking incoming attacks, teleportation, and the casting of other enemy mages. The main weapon of the Acheron is a powerful blast as it absorbs energy from the arconis to make a blast of magical energy holding all damage types.
Common Etiquette rules
Avalonians are expected to treat arcanists of other lands with respect regardless of their arcane tradition with the exception of warlocks & sorcerers. They perform a courtesy to their superiors from apprentice to their master and other mages to the Mystalia Dynasty. The knights & rogues always jump to defend the mages regardless of the severity of the threat and act as loyal as possible to the mages.
Common Dress code
Avalonians were finely made bright purple robes weaved from the silk of the mystic weavers. The avalonian's attire will bear the sigils of their group; those without a sigil are simple civilians. The knights wear purple and white half & full plate armor bearing either the sigil of the guard, the military, or royal defense corps while rogues wear dark black & white hooded robes.
Art & Architecture
Avalonians adore art in many forms, paintings, statues, and intricate abstract sculptures. Avalonian use andesite to build their cities, trimming it with mythril & using magic to make it float. The nephilim use a device called a Nethryl to prolong all arcane magic in their cities.
Common Customs, traditions and rituals
- Greeting: Avalonians are known to make small bursts of rainbow magic essence from their hands as a form of greeting.
- Avalonial Sigils: A birth rite of the avalonians as special markings are branded onto them unifying them at birth.
- Sign Of Friendship: Avalonians often share a bottle of acanir as a sign of friendship, a rare thing for them to do for outsiders.
- Romantic Gesture: Avalonians often give bouquets of mystion to potential romantic partners.
- Avalonian Punishments: Avalonian punishments where often unusual and cruel especially when a nephilim mage was the victim, typically the criminal would have their magic stolen, their intelligence siphoned, plymorphed into a familiar there are so many.
- Polymorph Prison: A punishment when a mages familiar was killed the criminal would be polymorphed into the same beast of the victim and forced to be their familiar.
- Soul Prison: When a mages close family member or freind has murdered the criminal would be killed and soul placed in a shard of animite & given to the victim to do whatever they want.
- Exile: A rare punishment made by Merlina the first one placed under this was her ex fiance Sonarius, the criminal would have their sigils painfully removed, their ability to use arcane magic removed and they would be barred from any and all avalonian settlements and encampments for the rest of their life.
Birth & Baptismal Rites
Avalonian nephilim are baptized in the water of the arcane lake to saturate them in the essence of the arcane and remove them from the gods. The rest of the avalonian are given a special marking on their bodies typically on their neck, hand, or shoulder unifying them from birth.
Coming of Age Rites
When Avalonians became apprentices they were given a wand, made of Arconis Wood & a spellbook to begin their teachings, when they become wizards they are gifted arconis wood staffs, & once they become arc mages they where given a scepter made of arconis wood & their spellbook's paper would be made of the material. The avalonian nephilim put their determination, drive, blood, sweat, & tears into their craft when ascending through the ranks of mages their books & focuses are dripped in the mage's blood.
Funerary and Memorial customs
Avalonians of high renown underwent a funeral ritual done by necromancers to keep the body preserved and warded from resurrection and becoming undead. They are kept in special graves adorned in the flowers of the arconis tree.
Common Taboos
Speaking of god's & divine magic was taboo to avalonian nephilim due to the dark history of religion & the perceived sloth that divine mages have. Crossing over from the arconis system to any other system especially the zodiac system was highly taboo a method of being corrupted by the spellbeggars. It was frowned upon for avalonian nephilim to breed with other races especially humans as it corrupts the arcane genes of the nephilim and produces corrupted offspring. Using weapons was considered a waste of time to avalonian nephilim of high society & those who did it were seen as unintelligent like their arcane knights. Harming other mages was a serious crime & seen as grounds for cruel punishment.
Common Myths and Legends
Some of the avalonians believe that the arconis the source of their magic is either a sentient being or made by a god, many of the nephilim abhor this idea that they owe their primary tool to something that has lead to their suffering once before. An old belief to the avalonians is that when divine magic was used in the system it displeased the arconis & would send its arcane flares to disrupt their magic. Many of the others of the arconis system sees the avalonians as elitist gatekeeping arcane magic and would control those who bear it innately.
- Legend Of The Mage Lord: Avalonian legend speaks of a lone mage who is stronger than all other arcane mages granted the power to command magic everywhere in others and locations, augment it or nullify it. Merlin and others of the Mystalian Family are blessed with this power and through this have the right to rule.
- Legend Of The Black Knight: Avalonian history speaks of a knight clad in black armor arriving through portals and aiding the nephilim in their survival & colonization of the planet. Allies and family of the black knight have safe passage among their land.
- Legend Of The One Who Touched The Sun: Legends speak of a avalonian outcast obsessed with divinity during the Black War using a forbidden spell to rise to godhood. He went mad and crippled the once eternal arconis and killed Merlin in the ensuing chaos. This serves as a reminder that godhood leads only to ruin.
Historical figures
- Merlin Mystalia, The All-Mage: The one who built the Avalon Empire, husband of Nimue, father of Merlina, & hailed as the best mage in history. He is one of the closest friend of Odin making him a magic spear during their time on Divonis until they split due to a conflict of ideals. He made the class system his people abide by pushing them closer to perfection through their own merit & not the favor of gods. Merlin's power was unmatched through a power he claimed to get from the arconis itself he could freely control the arcane magic of others and passed it down to his daughter Merlina. When he died he left Merlina to run the Empire.
- Nimue Mystalia, Lady Of The Lake: The wife of Merlin & mother of Merlina. She was with Merlin ever since their time on Divonis using her hydromancy and was the one to discover the arcana lake & by extension the arcana trees. Nimue was beloved by her people and tried to push acceptance of sorcerers to her people but she died in the Black War before she could fully push it.
- Merlina Mystalia, The Mage Queen: The current ruler of Avalon the daughter of Merlin & Nimue. She never had the same hate for divinity the rest of her people had, but no interest in practicing it. She was a lot more open-minded than the rest of her willingly venturing into the Zodiac System to regain the fragments of her father's scepter making allies with a paladin who had plans to make an immortal city. She taught the feeble prince of the Olgrim Dynasty Nelio Olgrim advanced magic far beyond the mages of his homeland even passing down the arcane spark to Nio as she suspected her people of trying to take it. Merlina once was sweet on the outcast Sonarius the first son of Mavis & Odin but when he led to the death of her father & the crippling of the arconis she broke off their engagement getting in a relationship with her friend & bodyguard Lucina. She later got the aid of Nelio & Savaera to stop her ex-fiance locking him away and get her a son in the form of the Arcane Soulless Astarot.
- Sonarius, The Mad Mage: Sonarius is the first son of Mavis taught about the Gardener by his mother; this teaching of the elder goddess led to him being shunned by his peers although he pursued enchantment magic to gain control over those who shunned him. He always thought of this gardener and others like her as simple people who found a means to ascend to godhood & he sought to attain that same power. Sonarius became close to the Mystalia Family, eventually learning about epic magic from Merlin & becoming in an item with Merlina much to the disdain of Lucina. He eventually learned how to make a spell that would make him achieve his dream and finally casted it during the Black War but it went wrong as he became the goddess his mother told him stories of going mad due to her being dead, gaining maddening knowledge & a permanent glowing purple eye with pulsating veins. This madness caused the death of Merlin, the imprisonment of the Aphelion, & the crippling of the arconis, this got him exiled from Ikavion.
- Marth, The Arcane Blade: The father of Lucina, one of Merlin's most trusted Knights & the first leader of the Mystalian Vanguard. Marth made his name as a warrior in "The Battle Of Ikavion" nearly dying to defend Ikavion from soulless as it took flight above the clouds. He remained loyal to his people until his demise during the war with mephiles leaving the vanguard to his daughter.
- Lucina, The Blade Of Mystalia: The daughter of Marth & the second leader of the Mystalian Vanguard bearing the same miracle as her father and just as much as a powerhouse as him winning many battles for her people. Lucina, like her father was loyal to the Mystalia Dynasty being attracted to Merlina but she didn't respond to her attraction yet she remained loyal to her. Once Sonarius was exiled from Ikavion she finally became an item with Merlina remaining by her side until her death at the hands of Sonarius.

Beauty Ideals
Avalonians see all arcane magic as beautiful, especially arc mages since it took work & determination to gain it. They see drive and determination as a gorgeous trait as it's through this that they grow as people and in their craft.
Divine Magic is abhorrent and ugly due to the ease of gaining it. Avalonian Nephilim who were of a slender athletic frame were seen as more attractive due to having the optimal physical health for their lifestyle & devoting the rest of their time to becoming arcanists.
Relationship Ideals
Avalonians relationships a are between two full mages relationships when both aren't full mages are looked down on.
Major organizations
- The Mystalia Dynasty: The ruling family of the avalonian nephilim founded by Merlin & Nimue. Under his rule the avalonians grew in magical power and technology over the thousands of years eventually gaining control of all of Avalon making the social system the nephilim abide by. Merlin eventually was killed in the Black War leaving Merlina in charge of the Mystalia Dynasty and changing the culture her father made.
- The Mystalian Vanguard: The main military force of the Avalonian Empire founded by Marth, then led by his daughter Lucina, & now her son Markarth. Despite the poor treatment of the knights under avalonian's rule they still remain loyal to the Mystalia Dynasty. Not only do knights occupy the vanguard but other mages and rogues.
