Darkin
The Darkin are the people who live in the Dark Lands, after the Hollow War, the 20% of the denizens of Gale's Underdark formally called Black Breeze had to go to the Dark Lands to not be killed. The Darkin are composed of many races the primary races being Drow, Eldritch, & Deurgar while the less populated races are Teiflings, Humans, Half-Elves, Argonians, Shade Elves, Elemite of Death, Shadow, & Plauge.
The Darkin culture is one where status, power, ambition, & appearance brought you love and prosperity, making them a shallow people, the strong became beloved soldiers who upheld Darkin society from the hostile world while those weak & unwilling would be raised up to become proud warriors in the Black Citadel. They where expected to be souless and merciless to uphold their culture and society and this persisted for a while.
Darkin despite leaving their former home after a massive flood, many tried to make the best of their new heartland and found absolute leadership in Erebus and worship in Salem. Through them the Darkin built new cities and found prosperity through the Dark Arts, Undead walked the streets, Souless acted as troops for the people & there was hope for the Darkin to have a prosperous life while trying to forget about the Hollow War. The Darkin where still seen as a scourge or blight to the rest of the planet but as long as they remained in their hellhole they would remain an ignored stain.
The new Darkin leaders still had other plans and sparked another war but not only where Gardenians involved but the Darkin gained the ire of the rest of the planet through the Black Garden War. After the end of the war the Darkin became vassals to the newest world power the Olgrim Kingdom under their new ruler Morigan now happy that their government won't incite bloodshed. The Darkin civilians now are happy to not have the ire of the world on their backs while Darkin soldiers still hold some resentment towards Gardenians, the world, & the gods for the exploitation and lies about the one they worshipped & her son.

Culture and cultural heritage
Pre Darkin
Before the Darkin lived in the Dark Lands they dwelled in Gale's Underdark at the time called Black Breeze. Their various races dwelled together with the Dark Elven House, Ovalin being the dominant race in Black Breeze. Once it was discovered that a rising power Called Gardenia was growing on the surface capable of having immortal denizens House Ovalin attempted a treaty of trade which was made to give the Darkin control. This was declined by the Gardenian King sparking the Ovalin Raids Various attacks and operations acting as a war of attrition until the Gardenians submit. During this the Gardenian Queen was caught in an explosion of voidstone hindering her fertility and ultimately leading to the weakened state of the last offspring of the King & Queen. The last Libra Ascendant Eudora Ghaul perished at the hands of House Ovalin, making her brother Kephalos the next one. These stopped when Gardenia was under the threat of the Primal Days when the fauna of the woodlands where uncontrollable since the Gardenians have already been dealt a massive blow from Ovalin it was wagered that the fauna would finish the job, little did they know they where wrong. After the Darkin regained their numbers through a crown made with Swarm magic capable of subverting the will of other Drow from around the world primarily using Lunalian Drow to toy with the hearts of the Gardenians by using innocents in their efforts. With a voidstone flame in Gardenia called the Umbral Blaze the Hollow War was started. The Darkin fought hard for 14 years and caused the Gardenians & Gale soo much heartache the forces being augmented through the consumption of Demon Blood. They lead many attacks on the surface one resulting in the Fall Of Solitude and repurposed it into a Stronghold for the House Captain Mordibus. The Darkin also corrupted the land with 6 Nether Portals all around Gale letting demons into the land to cause death and mayhem. By the order of Lord Ovalin Mordibus lead the Primeval Fall killing many Forest Elves & fauna, causing Soulfire to spread around the woodlands, & left Ivy scarred on her eye. This War ended in the Battle Of Hollow Nest when the Darkin where fooled into sending all of their forces underground where the flood gates on the first 2 layers where shattered causing the layers to flood killing 80% of the Darkin and the rest left the Underdark. This was the end of the Hollow War with the winner being the Gardenians.Old Darkin
Since the Hollow War the Darkin tried to grow their civilization but have been having some trouble. They had to deal with the Souless that where the most plentiful in those lands as well as Argonians who dwelled in those lands alone for a while. Instead of attacking the Argonians the Darkin gained the trust of the Argonians learning their secrets of survival. Some remained on the surface while others went to the underground of the Dark Lands they called New Black Breeze. Sometime after the split between them Erebus and his beloved wife arrived in the Dark Lands preching the glory of Salem. Many Darkin fell under the rule of Erebus as he brought control of the Souless and Undead to hold territory to build cities for the Darkin. Some Darkin didn't accept Salem as their god and started the Venom Rebellion to put an end to growing of Salem's influence. During this Nyx gave birth to her conjoined twins Dregen and Maya, Erebus severed them with his sword, and threw them into the Nether for them to grow at a quicker rate since they had Salem's power split between them they had a greater chance of survival unlike the other offspring of Erebus he subjected to the same fate. After a year the toddlers of the King & Queen emerged as young adults, who have truly adapted to the way of demons consumed large amounts of Demon Blood and ended the Venom Rebellion. Maya decayed the Souless Silo's to flood New Black Breeze and Dregen through his ferocity and brutality gained the affection of Silica. This made a pack between Silica & Erebus Called the Venom Pact where Silica would aid the Darkin in the coming conflict & Silica's worship could continue. With the Darkin thriving and unified they where ready for the Black Garden War. Erebus had the Spire Of Chaos awakened making Souless more powerful and plentiful, and conscribed 3 warriors from outside the Dark Lands to aid as enforcers. The Black Garden War
Once the Gardenians lead an investigation in the Dark Lands to deal with the Spire many calculated events occurred to incite war. The Darkin lead calculated attacks across the globe and realms but while the War seemed to be in their favor they where begining to falter as the Gardenian crown princess Astrea Olgrim and her party began to grow in power. Many of their people where dying and becoming undead to add to their forces though trying to keep what's left alive sparked some semblance of affection and love between them but they had to hide it during the war. The Darkin where torn they had devotion to Salem & her son but the conflict seemed hopeless leading to many trying to escape the land but those where found and dealt with. The war devolved Into the demise of their leaders from the Darkin Prince & Princess, the King & Queen, and the exposure of Grima's treachery. The Darkin rebelled against Grima and his dragon subordinates and excepted the leadership of Morigan starting the Black Garden Pact.New Darkin
15 years after the Black Garden Pact was enacted and the Darkin have lived in fragile peace with the Gardenians. Many things about Darkin & the Dark Lands have improved. Through Morigan fixing the Souless Silo's Black Breeze was no longer flooded allowing mining to resume.
