Midgard

Midgard is a supergiant planet in the Arconis System, fourth closest to the arconis being in-between Alfheim & Agnitir orbited by its four moons Pheoplan, Riakavos, Blionebira, & Dofucend. Midgard is home to the Asgardian Nephilim who rule over the entire planet after a century long war. The planet is home to humans and other half-human races accepted into the Asgardian Empire by the All-Father after the Raven War.

Geography

Midgard is a supergiant planet 60,000 miles in radius bearing a much stronger gravitational field than other planets making its inhabitants evolve to be physically stronger than other life-forms. The planet is 60% land & 40% water, the water being dubbed the "Asgardian Seas" teeming with powerful aquatic life like sea serpents and krakens. The underground of Midgard dubbed svartalfheim is a twisting network of caves and tunnels. The land is split into 4 continents Unison the heartland of the Asgardian Empire populated by mostly humans and nephilim, Natura is a forest continent home to the Half-Orcs & Half-Elves, Uvrex is a mountainous continent known for its high monster population, & Camelot is the youngest continent once populated by humans under the rule of the All-Father's son but Camelot fell into disarray centuries ago.

Ecosystem

Midgard is host to many ecosystems: vast mountain ranges, glacial tundras, fetid swamp and wetlands, lush forests and jungles, large hill ranges, sunlit valleys etc.

Ecosystem Cycles

During the spring Midgard's nature is bustling with life, the flora is as bountiful as it's going to be all year & many fauna come out as many enter their heat cycle. During the summer Midgard's temperature increases immensely causing flame based flora to grow & the flora not equipped to handle it wither and die although powerful rainstorms are known to occur in the summer. Midgard's autumn makes the plants change color rapidly as well as bringing powerful thunderstorms causing the fauna to hide and gather resources for the coming winter. Winter is the harshest season on midgard snowstorms so strong that even the nephilim can't remain outside for more than a few minutes without freezing to death. These snow storms make mounds of snow 10 inches deep, the fauna become incredibly hostile to survive in the cold.

Localized Phenomena

These occur every thousand years but the planet of Midgard is host to Primal Storms & Primal Quakes. These worldwide geological events are capable of mass death and destruction earthquakes so strong fissures open swallowing cities, cause volcanic eruption, and tsunamis, storms so strong that cyclones appears that can destroy cities, lightning strikes strong enough to vaporize anyone & rainfall so dense the world can flood.

Fauna & Flora

Midgard is host to many unique types of Flora and fauna one of the most popular flora is a tree that excretes green sap that crystallizes when exposed to air and detonates when exposed to electricity. Many monsters live in Midgard, large wolves, Griffins, manticores, giant eagles, ECT.

Natural Resources

One of the most popular resources in Midgard are the vast amounts of ether in the crust of planets being used for energy and weapons. The dwarves of Midgard also mine asgardian iron to turn into Asgardian Steel, the primary metal for their weapons. Andesite is the main stone used in Asgardian infrastructure gained from the mines.

History

Origin

Midgard like any other planet in it's system was forged over thousands of years as the arconis made it from asteroids, some solid rock others ice eventually the supergiant planet was forged producing life on its surface. Although the Gardener's law of stardust activated, making the humans from the essence of the nephilim slaughter in the Grey Raids making humans the first sentient life on the planet.

The Great Calamity & Primal Age

After the gods were all left in horrid states the mass amount of crossings brought much life to Midgard as well as other planets in the system. Fiends, Celestials, Dragons, Giants, Elves, Orcs, Primordials were brought to Midgard. Eventually the other races went to war with each other in an attempt to gain dominion over the planet the humans tried to fight them back but the other races were too strong eventually the humans lost their civilizations leaving only a few thousand remaining they went into hiding and while many humans met death others where either forced to other sides or willingly went to them & through breeding produced half-human races that yielded more potential than both races, but no other race that actually won leading to the thousand year old age of conflict called the Primal Age.

The Raven War

Thousands of years into the conflict of dominion a rogue ship crashed on Midgard holding the nephilim who left their homeworld of Divonis letting their world burn after countless atrocities. The nephilim eventually became a contender in the war for dominance known as the Raven War to the nephilim vowing to end this conflict and aid the humans born from the essence of their murdered kin. The war was destructive but the nephilim managed to accomplish what the other races couldn't do win the war Odin the leader of the nephilim with the aid of his allies he brought order to the savage planet of Midgard bringing forth the Age Of Asgard

The Age Of Asgard

The current time of Midgard where the Nephilim have built a utopian empire & growing in power in preparation for the coming conflict although during this time a civil war started over the ethics and power structure in the Asgard Empire. This civil war ended with the creation of the Asgardian Council splitting the power and by extension the burden and pressure on many individuals to run Midgard.

Tourism

Many people from the other worlds of the arconis system visit Midgard dragons & elves from Draconia and Alfheim. The Jotuns are not allowed to ever come back to Midgard after the Raven War not that the jotuns want to go back while avalonian nephilim will rarely venture to Midgard due to their aversion to the immense gravity.
