Mordencrast

Mordencrast is the smallest of the three provinces of man.   A very gloomy region, Mordencrast is known for its looming trees and misty landscapes. Forests tower high as ominous silhouettes standing in rolling fog, while thick marshlands swallow and suck at the steps of travelers walking into the central province. Despite the dismal environment, Mordencrast is known for being somewhat amicable to outsiders.   It is the province of the Crastan people.

The High Wall

Mordencrast most known for the Crastan High Wall; two gigantic walls that are found to the north and south of their province. These massive walls have historically served as strategic checkpoints that repelled invaders during the The Cruel Age. Thanks to this positioning, Mordencrast has remained as the oldest human Kingdom to stand through the test of time.

Geography

Most of Mordencrast is walled off from the rest of the world through natural barriers made by gigantic mountains. It's found on the western half of Tregaron, bordered by both mountain and sea. This convenient position is only easily accessible through narrow passages at the north and south of the country, which were historically walled off by man to ensure the safety of their citizens.

The Talltrees

The Talltrees is a region found in Northern Mordencrast. It's named after the massive sequoia trees that reach heights so high that the canopy disappears into the thick mist; it's a much more elevated section of Mordencrast. Most of the Crastan population lives in either this region, or the Five Fingers.

The Five Fingers

The Fingers refer to the five large rivers that are found branching into the central lake at the middle of Mordencrast. The area around the rivers are made up of marshy wetlands.

Galdslann

Galdslann is a swamp found further inland towards the mountains; while the mountains are generally considered the border where Mordencrast's territory ends, much of Galdslann consists of dense, steamy swamps that are often avoided due to superstition; it's where much of the The Crusades took place.

Climate

Mordencrast is a distinctly wet and humid environment. Thick sheets of fog envelop the entire province beneath layers of dense mist, especially during the cold winter months. It's relatively warm year round, with even the colder seasons being far more temperate; snow is rarely ever seen outside of the mountain regions.
