Krovesport
Krovesport is a large port city found in the western coast of Vilstrung.
There are many cities in Vilstrung that are isolated from the direct influence of the Huntsman's Court and Krovesport is a dire consequence of that. Often known as Roguesport, the city is the crime capital of all Vilstrung, and is the base of operations for many different syndicates that have rose to enough prominance to sway the entire country.
Demographics
Racial Demographics
Most humans living in Krovesport are ethnic Villish, but compared to many other settlements, it has a fairly broad demographic due to it being the only western harbor in Vilstrung. Its notoriety as a haven for rogues has lead to it being a popular place for adventurers living lives on the same coin; bounty hunters can find a nigh-endless list of jobs and opportunities plastered on the notice boards, while smugglers and thieves have all the opportunities in the world to find safety within its walls. The Fianni
The Fianni are the second most populous mortal race in the city. Fianni outside of the Chain of Fire, while rare, often sail overseas to broaden their perspective of the world. It is a common practice within Fianni culture; however, they find the dense urban living inside the deeper parts of Krovesport to be far too congested to their liking. Many Fianni live farther out in the suburbs of the city, where they live in small enclaves or camps. The Talpa
Talpa are common everywhere across Tregaron due to their unfortunate circumstances; the sinking of their isle has lead to them being found globally. Prejudice against them is very common in Krovesport; they are stereotyped as smugglers and thieves that dig complex tunnel networks for the syndicates of the city. This prejudice has lead to many Talpa families and businesses to be self-contained within their own enclaves -- and unfortunately enough, often in underground groves or hovels that they've carved out with their claws.Workforce Demographic
The average Krovin citizen lives most of their life working at the local Metzgereien as a meister or butcher. The hours are harsh and there's always demand for fishermen brave enough to trawl the ocean. Life for a Krovin fisherman is often spent on the waves as much as it is the sea, with massive ships designed to serve as room and board for its workforce. There is a disproportionately high amount of bounty hunters that live in Krovesport due to the high crime rate; and yet their numbers will never match the dozens of different crime families. Smuggling and black market trade make up a massive sum of the trade within Krovesport's underbelly. Wealth disparity between the workforce and the noble families that live in Krovesport is very noticeable. Working class citizens often need to live in barracks or boats if they don't have a family to support them. Noble families often draw upon their own individual districts.Government
Krovesport is ran by a Burgomeister, who is in charge of collecting the taxes, drafting its laws, and supplying them to the Huntsman's Court so that they may be upheld by their judges.
This is the only similarity that Krovesport carries with the rest of Vilstrung, however, as much of the Court has long since withdrawn from offering its services to the city -- this has lead to a unique state in which what little Judges still work in Krovesport being spread too thin to maintain the local laws.
The High Families
Also called Die Großen due to their high positions of power; the High Families are the most influential families that can be found in Krovesport. These families appoint officers that govern their districts in lieu of the judges. Each family holds ownership of a company or industry that makes up an important district within Krovesport; while not officially recognised by the Court as politically relevant, the High Families are both feared and respected across the city.Industry & Trade
The Harbor Districts
Krovesport's harbors are divided into two districts; Blood Harbor and White Harbor. The Blood Harbor is its local Metzgereien, while the White Harbor is kept entirely separate.Blood Harbor
While Krovesport has garnered a reputation for being a den of smugglers, thieves, and pirates, the backbone of its legal industry is its fishing and whaling. Much of Krovesport is built along the very edge of the coast; the harbor district is as important as it is massive. Here, massive beasts are trawled from the waters and hung on the hooks from processing; the harbour is filled with the constant reek of fish and offal and the pavement is notoriously always dyed a deep red from the butchers that work all waking hours in the Metzgereien. The water and pavement of this district is always slick with blood, leading to it being known as the Blood Harbor.White Harbor
The White Harbor is home to shipwrights and builders; it is also where most of the dockyards are situated to take in ships from overseas. White Harbor is far more clean compared to the gut drenched shipyard of its neighbour; here, fresh arrivals come in a specialised area dedicated to accepting what few or travelers may wish to arrive in Krovesport. The rest of White Harbor is typically off-limits to outsiders, as most of its area is used for the careful construction of gigantic vessels that are commissioned by wealthy benefactors -- or its sister harbor.Inner Districts
Residential districts are among the main things that can be found within the inner districts.Gold District
At the very heart of Krovesport is the Gold district; often attributed with the seedy underbelly of the city. It is a ring-shaped district that progressively leads towards the Burgomeister's manner at the heart. It's said that every vice can be found within the Gold District; massive casinos can be found lining the streets, while bars and taverns frequently host illicit fighting pits where combatants fight fame and coin. The Gold District is known for the Street of Pleasure; a long road dedicated to entertainment in all forms. Rings are placed for men and women to fight on the streets, brothels can be found beside breweries filled with exotic vintages, and between the legal establishments, there lie the black markets.Huntsman's Quarter
The Huntsman's Quarter is dedicated to tourists, adventurers, and vagrants. It's a smaller district, but is mostly dedicated to offering supplies and services to the bounty hunters that wish to work at the local adventurer's guild.Outer Districts
Mostly consisting of farms and suburbs; the Outer Districts are dedicated to simple farmland; fields of barley are known to create massive rows that flank the road that leads into Krovesport's inner city.
