Cutthroat Coast
Cutthroat Coast is the name of the far west peninsula of Vilstrung.
It's often considered entirely uninhabitable due to the rampant, roving bandit families that can be found throughout the coast -- so much so that a massive wall was built to divide the coast from Krovesport
The Bandit Families
Bandits are rampant across all of the Cutthroat Coast, forming their own distinct culture and hierarchy that lives separate from the Villish people. Due to the dangers of travelling through the Villish wilderness, numbers of the tribes, and the proximity to Krovesport, Cutthroat Coast is never policed. A distrinct subculture forged itself within the coast; each Bandit family has a chosen Reaver King that leads their community through the highland and protects their interests. Fear and blood is the only thing that can protect somebody within the Coast, and these families often elect the most ferocious fighter among them. Very few arrive into the coast and return -- both due to the bandit's tendency to kill -- and a strange phenomena within certain families. Some disappear into Cutthroat Coast, only to be spotted again as a new member of one of the many brutal families that rule over the coastline.Geography
A coastal highland, the Cutthroat Coast mostly consists of rocky hills and steep plateaus that rise out from rolling grasslands and colourful meadows. It has massive cliffsides that rise high and disappear into deep waves, leading to a very rocky coast.
With no lighthouse outside of Krovesport, Cutthroat Coast is notoriously dangerous to navigate around -- it's not too uncommon for vessels to beach themselves during the cold, dark nights. The bandit tribes roaming through the highlands often keep close to the coast and frequently form expeditions to plunder shipwrecks and drag survivors into their fold.
