HEX Mainframe
Faction of hive minded robots.
Its goals are to obtain as much information about the universe as possible, and to further this goal, it must upload the consciousness of other sentient beings into the hive mind, similar to the Borg from star trek.
However, unlike the Borg, the people are not constantly connected to each other. This way, they have individuality but cannot defy the hive's will.
Their armour relies more on nanobots than Hyperion Federation TGX Composite, and can adapt much faster. However, it also relies on this ability more, and without it its weaker than TGX Composite on average. Their Intergalactic Drives work differently from Hyperion IGWD also. They don't work on large ships, only small ships. Additionally they do not create large wormholes like Hyperion ones, only a wormhole big enough to fit the ship. If a large ship must perform intergalactic travel, they have a specialized large ship intergalactic warp class, a ship built around a massive wormhole drive that creates wormholes big enough to fit large ships. The HM lives on the HF side of the Fracture. Their military relies on Omnicannons, special weapons that are capable of adapting to the weakness of the enemy. They use a special form of power generation where very large volumes of hydrogen are fused into oxygen. This produces a very large amount of power, though not as much as antimater. HM does not have antimatter technology. HEX starships can be easily identified by the many green lights. The HM places absolutely no work into aesthetics, focusing purely on functionality, not only with their starships but with everything they build. HM starships are more likely to have a smaller length:width ratio than those of other factions. Although the HM has no known weak point, it is known that they rely primarily rely on computers to relay information, even across short distances. Assimilated people have only been recorded talking when trying to communicate to non-assimilated individuals as it is far more efficient to send them a message instead. This makes the HM particularly vulnerable to Data Fae, but the HF also adopts various forms of ewar for use against the HM (such as the Fermion Electronic Warfare Platform). They are just as, if not more reliant on technology as the HF. As the HM wants to assimilate every other faction, threatening their existance, they have developed very poor relations with them all. There have been times where they had to cooperate with other factions though - such as the events of the Hyperquasar Annihilator War - which although extremely difficult for them to organise helped improve relations very slightly with the rest of the Fortrais Galaxy Cluster.
Similar to the Cypher Dominion, the HM views other factions as being stuck in their own problems, even having internal conflicts sometimes, and in need of their enilghtenment. The organics seem to not even agree on efficiency, which the HM also hopes to bring to other factions. Though they attack the CD, they are not the primary target of the HM because they are efficient. However, the HM does want to free the Cypheans from their own machines which restrict the CD population's freedom even more than the HM does. Under the HM, every person is treated well and contributes to efficiency. Although organics tend to fear assimilation, the HM is ironically and arguably closer to a utopia than other factions such as the HF are. The HF and SR are the main targets of the HM, and they have assimilated a wide variety of species members of both. These people have realized the HM's goals, and have come to agree with them. This only worsens reputation between the HM and organic factions as they 'see what they have done to their people'.
