Base Cluster
Homeworld of the HEX Mainframe. The Cybrex race evolved there, but they created the HEX robots which would later take over their former organic masters. The HEX now looks to take over the other organics in the universe.
The world has its entire biosphere removed as it was polluted by industrial waste. The surface temperature increased substantially, the thick atmosphere containing the rays from the parent star.
The cybrex's bodies were modified to survive in such an industrialized world. Although now the world has no oceans as all the water was removed to make room for the HM buildings and industry, it used to be a pristine, oceanic planet with all sorts of life.
The planet was also so intensely mined that the HM could not use their material faster than they mined it. They put a lot of ore in one place on the planet, in a pile. This was eventually used in its entirety.
Base Cluster was initially a large continental planet with its few, large but iconic continents. This planet had a lot of life on it. Before the HM conquered the rest of Cyseus, Base Cluster was known as one of the prettiest planets in the galaxy, though tourists could never visit it due to the deadly HEX robots present. As such, many species and factions took images of the planet and tried to archive as many views as possible, but with the rapid HM expansion across the entire galaxy these records were mostly purged as the Mainframe was notably not interested. Only a small number of images ever made it to the HF. The oceans have long since been drained to make room for more factories and mines. This water was moved out of the planet by evaporating it slowly and allowing some of the atmosphere to dissipate into the Black of space. This took a lot of energy but the HM intended to last a long time so they were willing to invest this significant amount of energy and time to remove the oceans and almost all life from the Base Cluster.
