CD-HM War

Military: War

8924AU
8937AU

War between the Cypher Dominion and HEX Mainframe.

The war was initially declared by the HM wanting to assimilate the CD into its collective, or at least obtain a significant population. The war started on 8924, shortly after the HF first contacts with both the CD and HM. The HF took advantage of this war between 2 of their enemy nations and took the time to rebuild. The first CD-HM war also saw the first attempts to deploy Planetcraft between galaxies, but it was soon realised that the HM could not supply enough energy to warp one from LI-70 to XH-402.

Initially, the largest assaults were launched on the galaxies XH-402 and Beta Asteria, as well as smaller flanking forces on NI-751 and RJ-S54. However, the CD has managed to repel these assaults but the attack on RJ-S54 was the most successful, the HM managed to conquer about half of that galaxy temporarily. These forces were ordered to return following the CD counterattack on several HM galaxies, specifically LI-70 and J. However, it was soon made apparent that the CD attacks on these galaxies did not yield much success either, so these factions are now in a somewhat significant stalemate. However, the war did not go nowhere, as both sides captured significant populations from the other. Overall, though they were not victorious, the HM has gained more population than the CD, mostly from deporting many Cypheans and other CD species from RJ-S54.

This war did not end in glory or anticipation. Both the CD and HM are hive mind factions, and the nearby HF knew that after they were finished with their seemingly very destructive war, both sides would probably be after them once more. For the rest of Fortrais , the end of this war was seen with terror and despair. Indeed, the HM and CD did end up continuing their eternal efforts to expand into nearby territories and assimilate more very small factions and species around their space to expand, as well as more border conflicts with the HF. Their time to rebuild was over.
