Blood Tor
Ervenian Era, 1051 AB
The Blood Tor is the 13th layer of the Abyss, it raised Blood Tor rises like a wound from the flesh of the Abyss, a jagged, obsidian mountain surrounded by a snarled wasteland of blasted ridges, steep scarps, and treacherous ravines. Despite its verticality and hostile terrain, the layer is paradoxically survivable for mortal travelers, though only just. Every ledge and crag seems to conspire with fate to snap bones and sever ropes.
From the mountain’s flanks, runnels of crimson fluid, too thick for water, too thin for blood, drain down into acidic lakes far below. It is said these streams carry the essence of ill luck itself, or are fed by the deaths of the unfortunate across the planes. They burn with symbolic weight, if not physical flame.
Despite the apparent lack of sun, the entire realm glows with a soft, sourceless light, casting long shadows but never full darkness. Storms of glassy wind scour the slopes, and sudden gusts have been known to hurl climbers into the ravines below.

The Outer Slopes
Wracked by gusts and rockslides, this region is crossed by shattered trails and loose scree.Crimson Grottos
Hidden caverns pocket the mountain’s body, some no larger than a den, others vast halls where red pools reflect visions from other layers. Baisha uses these as both shrines and scrying chambers.Localized Phenomena
Pools in the Crimson Grottos function as greater scrying pools, but always reflect a moment of misfortune or betrayal, even when the user seeks something else.
The Blood Tor contains numerous Abyssal conduits, most of which are known only to Baisha’s servants. The Grand Wound, a spiral crevasse near the base, leads to a lesser-known Blood Rift tributary, while the upper caverns contain shifting gates to layers associated with punishment, paranoia, or sorrow.
Fauna & Flora
Vegetation clings to life in cursed hues, red and black lichen patterns that resemble bleeding runes. These growths offer no nourishment, but alchemists , harvest them for tinctures that alter fate (usually for the worse).
Among the few native beasts, glass-winged pests, fanged shadows, and stag-like horrors with broken antlers roam the cliffs, where was Baisha's Cage was located.
History
Blood Tor is infamous among planar scholars for being one of the few structured Abyssal realms to resist a major baatezu blitz. During the Hundred Years of Chaos, a Hell-born assault was launched to seize the layer as a strategic bridgehead in the Blood War. It failed catastrophically.
